    Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer-readable media, for enabling a client device to learn characteristics of one or more access points in a wireless network used by the client device. In addition to learning the characteristics of the access point, the client device also can learn its own hardware characteristics, its usage profile, its environmental operation condition, its user preferences, and its computing context. The client devices uses the learned characteristics to realize computing efficiencies based on dynamic configuration of wireless network settings at the client device.

    Abstract: This document describes methods, devices, systems, and means for the provisioning of enrollee Wi-Fi devices to a Wi-Fi network. Many Wi-Fi devices have limited or no user interface capabilities, which presents challenges to connecting and, especially, securely connecting many of these devices to a Wi-Fi network. Techniques are described to enhance the Device Provisioning Protocol to solicit and provide feedback from an enrollee device to indicate band support of the enrollee device and provide the status of the enrollee device after attempting to join a provisioned Wi-Fi network.

    Abstract: An ultra-wideband (UWB) ranging method comprises determining, by a first device, that the first device is within proximity of a second device. Responsive to the determination, the first device negotiates a value to use as a UWB session key for securing UWB communications with the second device. The negotiation occurs via a communication protocol different from a UWB communication protocol. The first device controls a UWB subsystem therein to encrypt information communicated via the UWB subsystem based on the negotiated value of the UWB session key instead of a default value for the UWB session key that is specified in the UWB communication protocol. The information facilitates determining the distance between the first device and the second device.
