摘要: A system includes a sensor that may measure one or more engine oil parameters to assess engine oil health of an engine and a processor communicatively coupled to the sensor and that may receive a signal from the sensor. The signal is representative of a real-time measurement of the one or more engine oil parameters. The processor may also estimate the one or more engine oil parameters over time via an adaptive predictive model associated with the one or more engine oil parameters to generate estimated data and reconcile the real-time measurement and the estimated data to generate an integrated engine oil degradation model and predict engine oil remaining useful life based on the integrated engine oil degradation model and one or more condemn limits associated with the one or more engine oil parameters.

摘要: A system includes one or more processors and a resonant sensor that contacts oil within an engine of a vehicle system. The sensor generates electrical stimuli at different times during an operational life of the engine. Each electrical stimulus has multiple different frequencies applied to the oil. The one or more processors receive electrical signals representing impedance responses of the oil to the electrical stimuli. The one or more processors determine a concentration of a polar analyte in the oil at the different times based on the impedance responses and calculate a degradation value for the engine based on the polar analyte concentration. Responsive to the degradation value exceeding a designated degradation threshold, the one or more processors at least one of schedule maintenance for the vehicle system, provide an alert to schedule maintenance for the vehicle system, or prohibit operation of the vehicle system until maintenance is performed.

摘要: A reciprocating engine system includes a cylinder, a piston disposed within the cylinder, a knock sensor disposed proximate to the cylinder and configured to detect vibrations of the cylinder, piston, or both, a crankshaft sensor configured to sense a crank angle of a crankshaft, and a controller communicatively coupled to the knock sensor and the crankshaft sensor. The controller is configured to receive a raw knock signal from the knock sensor and a crank angle signal from the crankshaft sensor corresponding to vibrations of the cylinder, piston, or both relative to the crank angle of the crankshaft, convert the raw knock signal into a digital value signal, and at least one of a crank angle for a start of combustion, a peak firing pressure, a percentage of fuel mass fraction burn, or a combination thereof, based on the digital value signal and the crank angle.
