Abstract: Techniques for detecting depth contours of an anatomical target and for enhancing imaging of the anatomical target are provided. In an example, a reference pattern of light can be projected across an anatomical target and an image of the reflected light pattern upon the anatomical target can be captured. The captured light pattern can be analyzed to determine contour information, which can then be used to provide 3D cues to enhance a 2-dimensional image of the anatomical target.

The first process includes steps of selecting at least one variable operating parameter of a laser light source of a lithotripsy device; determining a value of each of a plurality of base settings of the at least one variable operating parameter selected; and selecting one of the plurality of base settings based on signals received from the target in response to laser irradiation according to the value of each of the plurality of base settings set. The second process includes controlling the laser light source based on the one of the plurality of base settings selected.

Abstract: A laser tissue ablation system can include an optical fiber, with a distal end being extendible from an endoscope body of an endoscope. The optical fiber can deliver therapeutic laser light from the distal end of the optical fiber toward a target site, and receive return light into the distal end of the optical fiber. The laser tissue ablation system can include a sensor that can spectrally measure the return light. The laser tissue ablation system can include processor circuitry that can form a first determination, from the spectral measurement of the return light, whether flashing event light is present in the return light. The flashing event light can be generated when a flashing event occurs at the distal end of the optical fiber. The processor circuitry can generate, in response to the first determination, a flashing event data signal that indicates whether the flashing event has occurred.

Abstract: Disclosed are system and methods for a laser system comprising at least one laser, a processor, and a user interface. The processor can receive a range for at least one setting of the at least one laser that the at least one laser can operate within. The processor can further determine a proposed updated value for the at least one setting and determine that the proposed updated value is within the range. An indication of the proposed updated value and an option for a user to accept or reject the proposed updated value can be provided on a user interface. Responsive to an acceptance the at least one setting can be adjusted based on the proposed updated value. Responsive to no rejection within a predetermined period of time, the processor can cause the at least one setting to be adjusted or cancel adjustment of the at least one setting.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for determining target characteristics during a laser procedure, comprising (i) obtaining a relationship between (i) a number of pixels associated with a light beam reflected from a target or an object located in proximity to the target on an endoscopic image obtained from a video sensor coupled to an endoscope and (ii) a distance of the target from a tip of the endoscope. The method further comprising (ii) measuring the number of pixels associated with the light beam reflected from the target or the object located in proximity to the target during a procedure, and (iii) based at least in part on the relationship obtained in step (i) and the measured number of pixels in step (ii), determining at least one of a size of the target or a distance of the target from the tip of the endoscope.
