Abstract:
A process and device for recovering polymetal compounds discharge from a submarine hydrothermal source comprises the use of a device comprising a bell-shaped collector member provided with a flexible skirt and placed just above the hydrothermal source to cover it substantially tightly. Means are connected to said collector for withdrawing hydrothermal fluid from the source and means are provided for concentrating the polymetal compounds thereof by settling or by centrifugation with a pipe for raising the so-concentrated flow to a surface installation associated with a bottom turbine energized by power derived from the hydrothermal fluid energy.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and device for determining the positioning of an element or target using at least one acoustic emitting-receiving sensor. In this method only the signal received by said sensor and due to the diffraction of the signal emitted by said sensor is taken into account.

Abstract:
The characteristics of a device for regulating and damping the composition fluctuations of a multiphase flow comprising a tank or surge drum and a sample tube located between a source of effluents and a multiphase pump are optimized by selecting the volume of the tank and the distribution of the apertures of the sample tube so as to define an average level around which the level of the liquid-gas interface is stabilized and so that the volume of the liquid phase corresponding to this average level is at least equal to the volume of liquid necessary to discharge any foreseeable volume of gaseous phase coming from the source of effluents. In case of a large volume of gaseous phase, an unpierced tube is introduced inside the sample tube.
Abstract:
Device for cleaning the walls (1, 2) of a tank with a pressurized fluid comprising a rotating stand (3) equipped with at least one pressurized cleaning fluid spray element (5, 6). The spray element (5, 6) may have nozzles (J) and displacement means allowing it to be positioned relative to the walls of the tank to achieve complete cleaning of all the walls of the tank.Method implemented by the device.FIG. 1 to be published.
Abstract:
Transfer by pumping of effluents containing at least one gas phase and at least one liquid phase in a transfer line connecting a source of effluents is optimized by interposing on the line, between the source and the point of designation, a multiphase pump. The rotating speed of the pump is regulated so as to adapt the pump flow rate to at least one of the following parameters: flow rate variation well, variation of the volumetric ratio GLR or pressure drop variations occurring in the line during transfer. The values of the parameters are controlled and adjusted to values comparable with the operation of the pump.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for transferring a multiphase effluent whatever the value of its gas phase/liquid phase volumetric ratio GLR may be. The value of the GLR is determined by means of a measuring device D, before it reaches a separation tank, when the measured value of the GLR is greater than a boundary value, part of the gas phase is discharged through compression means in connection with the tank, as long as the level of the liquid-gas interface in the tank is below a threshold value.
Abstract:
A device for permitting the relatively precise positioning of two geometrical axes respectively of two elements at least one of the elements being associated with means capable of assuring its displacement characterized in that it comprises in combination at least two acoustic emitters-receivers disposed in a first plane substantially perpendicular to one of said geometrical axes, said axis being defined as the first axis, and capable of emitting toward said axis, said two emitter-receivers not being located on a same line passing through said first axis and in that it comprises a third emitter-receiver situated outside of said plane.
Abstract:
A remotely controlled undersea vehicle has a manipulator arm articulated to a mast which is articulated on the vehicle. Jaws at the end of the arm are arranged to close around a collar of a conduit having an automatic connector end, and to connect control fluid passages of the jaws to passages in the collar which communicate the control fluid to the automatic connector end.
Abstract:
A device for drilling a layer of coke within a reactor to effect the decoking of the reactor includes a decoking tool arranged at one end of a hose for conveying a decoking fluid to the tool. The decoking tool has a first part and a second part coaxial with the first part. The second part has means for ejecting the decoking fluid against the coke layer, including a first ejection means for ejecting the fluid in a substantially axial direction downwardly to penetrate the coke layer, a second ejection means ejecting the fluid in a substantially lateral direction and a third ejection means for ejecting the fluid in a substantially upward direction to remove any coke accumulated above the tool.
