Abstract:
A method and apparatus for color calibrating an imager device is disclosed. The imager device is subjected to a plurality of light sources. Color channel responses are obtained from the imager device and the color calibrating coefficients are determined.
Abstract:
An interferometer is provided, comprising a source, a unit under test (UUT) with at least a first surface and second surface, a reflective optic, a detector and light from the source. The light is transmitted through the unit under test and reflects off of the reflective optic, which directs the light back to the unit under test. A first portion of light is reflected off the first surface of the UUT. A second portion of light is reflected off the second surface of the UUT. The first and second portions of light are then reflected by the reflective optic and are then transmitted through the UUT. The two portions of light are incident on the detector, where the first and second portions of light coherently add and the interference pattern is detected by the detector. A method for measuring the transmitted wavefront of the UUT is also provided.

A composite roofing membrane having a top layer of a thermoplastic polymer, a middle layer of a fleece material, and a bottom layer of modified bitumen joined together. The top and bottom layers may be reinforced with a reinforcing scrim.
Abstract:
A Fizeau or other interferometer is used to provide high resolution, in-situ calibration of an external angle measurement system such as widely spaced high stability plane mirror interferometers (HSPMIs)). The calibrated measurement system then measures mechanical tilt during shearing. The tilt data is used to correct the sheared data, preferably before computation of the rotationally invariant (RI) terms. Altematively, the data may be used to compute the spurious quadratic term and correct after integration.
Abstract:
A textured and printed membrane has an embossed top layer with a protective coating, a fabric layer, a printed bottom layer with a protective coating, where the layers are adhered with a PVC plastisol. The printing pattern matches the embossing, such that the membrane has the appearance of cloth on both sides. The textured vinyl membrane composite has a thickness of from 10 to 35 mils. The membrane can be fitted on an awning to display illuminated (white/opaque) graphics (lettering or design). The top layer is preferably compounded PVC formulated with a colorant. The bottom layer is also PVC, typically formulated with a flame retardant package, such as antimony trioxide or brominated compounds, aluminum trihydrate, magnesium hydroxide, and the like to suppress the spread of an ignited flame. Both top and bottom layers can have heat stabilizers and lubricants to improve processing of the PVC.
Abstract:
In a power driven roller conveyor having a plurality of rollers each connected to a shaft and a plurality of driven sprockets one of which is rotatably mounted on each of the shafts, a torque-responsive coupling is interposed between a driving member connected to each sprocket and a driven member connected to each shaft so that the rotation of any roller will be interrupted if the resistance to rotation exceeds a desired value, thereby permitting articles on the conveyor to be stopped and accumulated without undue scuffing and wear on the articles or on the rollers. The coupling consists of a wobble plate which is connected to the driven member for oscillating movement about a center coincident with the axis of the shaft and which has a surface disposed transversely to the axis of the shaft and facing the driving member. The wobble plate is spring urged toward the driving member. A driving ball, rotatably mounted in a socket in the driving member engages and displaces the surface of the wobble plate to an oblique relation with the axis of the shaft, thus forming, a coupling which will transmit motion until the resistance thereto is sufficient to overcome the spring bias on the wobble plate. The ball then rolls on the surface of the wobble plate which oscillates.
Abstract:
A reduced scrim reinforcement is provided in single ply roofing membranes having excellent wind uplift performance. Also provided is a method for making a roofing membrane having the scrim reinforcement incorporated therein.
Abstract:
A Fizeau interferometer is provided with an adaptive null optic whose shape may be selectively varied in a controllable way by the selective application of external mechanical loads to enable the interferometer to be dynamically adapted to testing a variety of aspherical segments of differing shapes without the need for providing individual reference surfaces to match the various shapes of each test segment.

Abstract:
The present invention is a single ply building membrane comprising a single ply membrane with a base and a cap layer and a top and bottom surface, having a predetermined printed design on the cap layer, and a predetermined texture on at least one surface of the membrane. The membrane may comprise compounds selected from the group consisting of thermoplastics and thermosets. The printed and textured designs may be of a laid roof or siding. The invention includes a method of installing a single ply building membrane on a building surface and a method of manufacturing such membrane.
