Abstract: Provided is a masonry treatment composition containing a fluorine-containing polymer, which contains, as essential components, a fluorine-containing monomer having a fluoroalkyl group represented by the formula (a) CH2═C(—X)—C(═O)—Y—Z—Rf, a first hydrophilic monomer represented by formula (b) CH2═CX11C(═O)—O—RO—X12, a second hydrophilic monomer represented by formula (c) CH2═CX21C(═O)—O—(RO)n—X22 or CH2═CX31C(═O)—O—(RO)n—C(═O)CX32═CH2, and (d) repeating units derived from a monomer having an anion donor and an ethylenic unsaturated double bond. Provided is a treatment composition which can impart outstanding water repellency, oil repellency and anti-fouling properties to a masonry substrate.

Abstract: A softening agent composition including (1) a silicone polymer, (2) a water-repellent polymer, (3) an emulsifier, and (4) a liquid medium that is water or a mixture of water and an organic solvent. Also disclosed is a method for producing the softening agent composition which includes producing a water-repellent polymer by polymerizing, in the presence of the silicone polymer, a monomer that constitutes the water-repellent polymer. The water-repellent polymer may be at least one selected from the group consisting of fluorine-containing polymers and non-fluorine-containing polymers. Also disclosed is a method for treating a substrate with the softening agent composition and a substrate treated with the softening agent composition.

Also disclosed is a coating composition including the fluorine-containing polymer and a liquid medium, a method for producing a coated article which includes coating an article with the coating composition and a coated article.

Abstract: A water- and oil-repellent agent that is an aqueous dispersion containing (A) a fluorine-free polymer having repeating units derived from a fluorine-free (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer, (B) a wax, (C) an aqueous medium, and (D) an emulsifier. The fluorine-free (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer is a compound represented by the formula CH2=CA11-C(═O)—O-A12 where A11 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and A12 is a linear or branched C18-30 hydrocarbon group. The emulsifier includes a sorbitan ester and another emulsifier, and the emulsifier has a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) of 7.5 to 13.5. Also disclosed is a method of producing the water- and oil-repellent agent and a method of producing a treated substrate by applying the water- and oil-repellent agent to a substrate.
