Abstract: A method, computer program product and apparatus for the pilot control of a mixture preparation for an internal combustion engine are disclosed, which include determining a configuration of the internal combustion engine. The configuration is determined by a combination of discrete positions of a plurality of actuators which influence at least one operating parameter of the internal combustion engine. The method, computer program product and apparatus additionally determine a constant adaptation component of the mixture preparation which is fed back by an exhaust gas probe of the internal combustion engine, and store the constant adaptation component and the associated configuration in memory. The pilot control of the mixture preparation is performed with the constant adaptation component when the internal combustion engine is operated in the same configuration.

Abstract: A method for determining the composition of a fuel in a lubricant in an internal combustion engine in disclosed. The composition of a fuel having at least a first portion of a first fuel component and a second portion of a second fuel component is predefined. The mass flow with which the fuel is introduced into the lubricant in an introduction phase or discharged from the lubricant and from the housing in a discharge phase is determined. The composition of the mass flow is determined from a first mass flow of the first fuel component and a second mass flow of the second fuel component, which are determined based on a) an introduction parameter in the introduction phase or a discharge parameter in the discharge phase, and b) the first portion of the first fuel component and the second portion of the second fuel component in the fuel.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine has a crankcase and a crankcase ventilation system having a switchable shut-off valve, and sensors that detect different operating parameters of the engine, including a load variable of the engine. An estimated load parameter is determined based on the different detected operating parameters using a dynamic model, and a corrective value of a characteristic value is determined as a function of a deviation between the estimated load variable and the detected load variable. To implement a diagnosis, diagnosis switching cycle(s) are controlled, in which the shut-off valve is set to a closed switched position for a first time and set to an open switched position for a second time. A diagnosis value representative of a shut-off valve being in a correct or incorrect state is determined based on a change to the corrective value in response to the one or the plurality of diagnosis switching cycles.
