Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes configuring a router to act as a BNG and establishing, by the router, a connection between CPE and the BNG. The method also includes receiving, by the router, end-user and access parameters and communicating, by the router, the end-user and access parameters to one or more 5G NFs by interacting with one or more SBIs. The method further includes allowing, by the router, the CPE access to the one or more 5G NFs in response to communicating the end-user and access parameters to the one or more 5G NFs.

Abstract: An enhanced, fixed broadband access network—mobile network integration for integrating fixed broadband access networks and mobile networks may include a network node having a Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) User Plane (UP) (BNG-UP) function operative to serve as a Branching Point (BP) User Plane Function (UPF). The network node may include a network interface to interface with a Control Plane (CP) for session management and a network interface to interface with a BNG Control Plane (BNG-CP) function. The network node may be configured to process UP traffic based on one or more sets of rules, to forward first UP traffic towards a first UPF to a Data Network (DN) and to forward second UP traffic towards a second UPF to a Local Area Data Network (LADN). Sessions with the CP for session management and the BNG-CP may be identified as related sessions for appropriate processing of the UP traffic.

Abstract: The present technology is generally directed to optimizing a non-3GPP untrusted Wi-Fi to 5G system handover followed by Evolved Packet System (EPS) fallback, more specifically, to delaying removal of the Wi-Fi session resources and creating a voice flow as part of the EPS fallback. The present technology can receive a request for an EPS fallback from a mobile device for a handover to a 5G network while the mobile device is in communication over non-3GPP access network, maintain one or more resources of the non-3GPP access network during data path switching from the non-3GPP access network to the 5G network, generate a list of EPS bearer identifiers to transmit to an access and mobility management function (AMF), wherein the list of EPS bearer identifiers is associated with a voice flow to transfer the one or more resources of the non-3GPP access network as part of the handover from the non-3GPP access network to the 5G network, and transmit the list of EPS bearer identifiers to a mobility management entity (MME).
