Accordingly, techniques are provided for delivering ligature loops or closure means to the left atrial appendage, and to other anatomical structures of a patient which may be desirable in other surgical procedures.

摘要: Exemplary scope systems and methods involve a cannula assembly, a sheath assembly, and a tubing set. A cannula assembly, which may be a non-magnetic scope cap assembly, can include a cannula body, a proximal housing having a strap, an optical window, and a luer for suction or flushing. A cannula body may include a first lumen or scope channel for receiving a visualization device such as an endoscope or laparoscope, a distal end having suction or flushing flush apertures, and a second lumen for providing fluid communication between the apertures and the luer. Exemplary magnetic introducer systems and methods involve a cannula assembly, a sheath assembly, a tubing set. In some cases, the cannula assembly of a magnetic introducer system can be a magnetic scope cap assembly. In addition to cannula and sheath assemblies, magnetic introducer systems can include a magnetic introducer tubing assembly and a stylet assembly.

摘要: A surgical system for ablating a tissue, the system comprising: (a) an ablation mechanism comprising a first electrode and an opposed second electrode, wherein the ablation mechanism is configured to receive a tissue between the first electrode and the second electrode, and wherein at least one of the first electrode and the second electrode is movable to allow the first electrode and the second electrode to accommodate variable tissue thicknesses therebetween; and (b) a clamping mechanism configured to release and apply clamping pressure to the tissue between the first electrode and the second electrode, where the ablation mechanism is configured to automatically individually adjust at least one of an ablation energy output of the first electrode and an ablation energy output of the second electrode to accommodate variable tissue thicknesses between the first electrode and the second electrode.

摘要: A method of positioning an occlusion clip proximate a left atrial appendage may include creating an access port that exposes the left atrial appendage; delivering a suction grasper via the access port, the suction grasper including opposing jaws each having a suction port; delivering an occlusion clip via the access port; grasping the left atrial appendage via the suction grasper by applying suction to an exterior of the left atrial appendage so that a portion of the left atrial appendage interposes the opposing jaws while suction is applied via the suction ports; repositioning the suction grasper to tension the left atrial appendage; delivering an occlusion clip via the access port; clamping a base of the left atrial appendage using the occlusion clip while the suction grasper applies tension to the left atrial appendage; and/or egressing the suction grasper via the access port.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention encompass systems and methods for delivering ligatures to anatomical features of a patient. Exemplary ligature delivery systems for use in delivering a ligature to a left atrial appendage ligature include an elongate support mechanism having a proximal portion and a distal portion, a flexible hoop assembly, and a cinchable constriction member. The flexible hoop assembly can be coupled with the distal portion of the elongate support mechanism, and can include a support body coupled with a support frame. The support frame can be biased to hold the support body in a trailing configuration, whereby a free portion of the support body is disposed proximal to the distal portion of the elongate support mechanism. The support frame of the flexible hoop assembly can be coupled with the distal portion of the elongate support mechanism. The support body can be configured to support the cinchable constriction member and a loop of the left atrial appendage ligature.
