The inventive sleeve is fitted with peripheral sealing lips at each end and is mounted between the body having the hot flow channel and the mold cavity (6). The sleeve compensates for differential heat expansion while enabling well-defined temperature separation in the mold feed orifice area of the injection mold by sealing the air gap (4).

A cathode feed line is used to feed oxygen-containing gas to the cathode space, and an anode line is used to feed and discharge an operating medium into the anode space. A representative temperature is determined for the system, and metered amounts of operating medium are passed to the cathode space as a function of this temperature. Increasing in the operating medium concentration in the cathode space in this manner causes a reduction in the freezing point and, when the system is started, an exothermic catalytic reaction.

A process for pre-aging the methanol reforming catalyst comprises heating at a temperature of between approximately 240° C. and approximately 350° C. and at a load of between approximately 0.5 m3H2/h and approximately 50 m3H2/h per liter of catalyst material in a methanol/water atmosphere. The reactor may be used in fuel-cell-operated motor vehicles for generating hydrogen for the fuel cells by means of the water vapor reforming of methanol.

A reformation reactor that can be used especially for steam reformation of methanol for generating hydrogen in motor vehicles operated by fuel cells. A gas stream to be reformed is conducted through a reaction chamber into which a charge of a catalyst material is added. A catalyst supply container connected with the reaction chamber is so arranged that the catalyst material is automatically added from the supply container to the reaction chamber.
