Abstract: A valve for use within a vacuum cup of a vacuum gripping system is described. In one example, a vacuum cup includes a bellows and a valve assembly seated within an inner chamber of the bellows. The valve assembly includes a body disk seated within the inner chamber, a control disk seated toward a suction cup end of the bellows, a spring positioned between the body disk and the control disk, and a control stem extending through the central valve aperture of the body disk, through the spring, and secured to the control disk. When the control stem is seated within the central valve aperture, the valve assembly restricts fluid suction to within the inner chamber. When the valve control stem is unseated from the central valve aperture, the valve assembly conveys fluid suction to the suction cup end of the bellows.

Abstract: Embodiments herein describe a control system that determines a location of an item on a first conveyor belt which affects the transfer of the item from the first conveyor belt onto a second conveyor belt. The control system includes a distance sensor which determines a location of the item on the first conveyor (or a location of the item on a queue belt that provides the item to the first conveyor). Using the distance sensor, the control system can identify the offset of the item relative to the center of the first conveyor belt. The control system can then control the time at which the item transfers from the first conveyor belt to the second conveyor belt by, for example, speeding up or slow down the first conveyor belt to compensate for the offset or adjusting an induct time.

Abstract: A multi-zone end effector assembly is described in the present disclosure. As a non-limiting example, the multi-zone end effector assembly comprises a manifold that comprises a first interior chamber and a second interior chamber. A first port connects to the first interior chamber, and a second port connects to the second interior chamber. A first compression cup region can be connected to the first interior chamber. The first compression cup region is in air connection with the first port. The first compression cup region is configured to be independently activated in order to create a first vacuum zone. A second compression cup region is connected to the second interior chamber. The second compression region cup is in air connection with the second port. The second compression cup region is configured to be independently activated in order to create a second vacuum zone.

Abstract: Printing systems may include a rotatable tamp head that may be repositioned, as necessary, in order to cause a label to be printed in a specific location or in a certain alignment on an object. Such tamp heads may be repositioned as necessary where the label may cross a seam, a crease, a fold or another surface feature which might cause the label to be bowed or damaged in transit. The tamp head may be positioned in a manner that would enable any information, markings or bar codes thereon to remain legible and intact even if the label is applied across such a surface feature. An orientation of the object may be determined using one or more sensors aligned at various angles with respect to a direction of travel of the object.
