Abstract:
A transfer material detecting device contains a transfer material carrier that detachably carries a transfer material to transport the transfer material to a transfer region where a toner image of an image carrier is transferred to the transfer material; and transfer material sensors that are disposed in a moving path of the transfer material carrier and detect the existence of the transfer material carried by the transfer material carrier. The device contains at least two transfer material sensors arranged in a moving direction of the transfer material carrier at intervals that are shorter than the minimum size of the transfer material to be detected; and a device for outputting a transfer material detection signal when at least two of the transfer material sensors simultaneously detect the existence of the transfer material.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to improvements in a hydropneumatic gun for setting blind-rivet nuts used for integrally securing, for example, two panels to each other with a nut. In the hydropneumatic gun for setting blind-rivet nuts, an air piston fitted in air cylinder is moved to pressurize oil housed in the gun body, causing an oil piston to be retracted, so that a screw mandrel attached to the oil piston at its tip is retracted to the inner part of the gun body, thereby to exert a deforming force to a sleeve of a nut threadedly mounted on the screw mandrel. The hydropneumatic gun for setting blind-rivet nuts comprises an air motor to be rotated by compressed air, an air motor driving air guide passage, an air motor forward/reverse rotation direction changeover mechanism for switching the rotation direction of the air motor, and a power transmission mechanism for transmitting an air motor driving force to the screw mandrel. According to the present invention, a series of operations of the screw mandrel such as forward rotation, stop of the rotation, retraction, reverse rotation and advancement can be carried out smoothly and sequentially.
Abstract:
A spline-coupling structure in which at least one of male and female members has a press-fit guide face provided at its end opposed to the other member before press-fitting of the members. The press-fit guide face includes a plurality of guide face portions smoothly interconnecting the end and bottom lands of the spline teeth of the one member to form axially outwardly expanded arcs, a plurality of second guide face portions smoothly interconnecting tooth addendums of the spline teeth and the end to form axially outwardly expanded arcs, and a plurality of third guide face portions smoothly interconnecting tooth flanks of the spline teeth and the second guide face portion to form axially outwardly expanded arcs. The first, second and third guide face portions are connected smoothly to one another. Thus, dragging between the spline teeth of both members is prevented during press-fit coupling, to maximize the function of crownings to reduce press-fitting load and provide a sufficient coupling force, and facilitate disengagement of both members from each other and allow reuse of both members.
Abstract:
3-(5,7-Dimethyl-2-hydroxy-4-oxo-6,8-decadienyl)-glutarimide is prepared by cultivating Streptomyces pluricolorescens var. yamashitaensis (S-885) ATCC No. 21956 in an aqueous nutrient broth containing a carbohydrate and a source of organic nitrogen until said broth achieves substantial antiviral activity, and recovering said antibiotic from said culture broth. This antibiotic is effective against the viruses of polio and A-type influenza.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a process for the renewal of a deactivated insolubilized glucose isomerase which comprises subjecting an insolubilized glucose isomerase adsorbed onto an anion exchange resin, which has been used for isomerization of glucose into fructose to decrease its activity, to treatments by an aqueous mineral acid solution in combination with an aqueous alkaline solution, an aqueous electrolytic salt solution, an aqueous mineral acid or a mixture thereof to release adsorbed materials from the resin which is converted into a salt type and adsorbing fresh glucose isomerase to the regenerated resin to recover the activity of the insolubilized glucose isomerase.
