Abstract:
An apparatus for accurate dental implant fixture location determination including an inductive Eddy current effect based dental implant fixture location sensor and a handle. For detection and determination of the dental implant fixture location, the apparatus with the sensor is inserted into a patient mouth and moved in a scanning motion over the gums into which one or more dental implant fixtures have been earlier inserted.
Abstract:
A dental system including a computer and a display, and one or more dental sensors communicating with the computer. Some of the dental sensors could be operative to provide information or an image of one or more oral components and communicate the image to the computer or computer memory. The image stored in the memory could be a graphic image and the information could also include an image and a predetermined dental treatment protocol. It could be an X-ray image, a two-dimensional image, a three-dimensional image, a panoramic image, and a CT image. This superimposed dental image, received from a number of dental sensors, and the dental instrument image facilitates correction of errors and inaccuracies in instrument location and/or angle of dental instrument positioning and tooth penetration as well as various measurements such as number and length of root canals and other parameters required for performing an accurate dental procedure.
Abstract:
A device for locating an apex of a root canal of a tooth comprises a first electrode having a conductive probe with a tip adapted for insertion into the root canal, and a second electrode configured to electrically contact a patient's body. The device includes a voltage generator which provides AC test voltage signal, a AC voltage driver with an internal output impedance, and a voltage detector coupled to the electrodes to detect an AC voltage across the first and second electrodes. An electronic controller coupled to the voltage detector calculates the test scores, determines the position of the probe tip on the basis of the test score values, and informs the user of the position of the probe tip in the canal. The position of the probe tip in the root canal is indicated on a display by a marker.
Abstract:
A device includes a thermal element capable of instantly activating to change a temperature of the thermal element for thermal transfer between the thermal element and a fluid, and tubing made of a flexible material having a hollow core that forms a conduit for a flow of the fluid through the tubing. At least a portion of the tubing may be coiled around the thermal element to provide a predetermined surface area of engagement between the tubing and the thermal element for thermal transfer between the thermal element and the fluid when the thermal element is instantly activated and the fluid is flowing through the tubing.
Abstract:
A sensor for use in an apparatus for accurate dental implant fixture location determination including an inductive Eddy current effect based dental implant fixture location sensor, a shield operative to cancel out the effects of variable and unpredictable capacitance generated by uncontrollable factors, and a protective casing made of bio-compatible material at least partially enveloping the sensor and a handle.
