    Abstract: A radiation curable liquid includes at least one free radical polymerizable monomer or oligomer, at least one diffusion hindered acetalysation catalyst, and at least one diffusion hindered hydroxyl containing compound. The radiation curable liquid applied to a substrate prevents migration of very low viscous monomers, such as vinyl ether acrylate monomers, into the substrate.

    Abstract: An inkjet printing method includes the steps of jetting ink dots on a substrate of a plurality- of radiation curable inkjet inks having a viscosity of no more than 50 mPa·s at 25° C. and a shear rate of 90 s−1, the plurality of radiation curable inkjet inks including a) at least one non-polymerizable, non-polymeric bisacylphosphine oxide present in a concentration of no more than 4.0 wt % based on the total weight of radiation curable inkjet ink; b) at least one monomer including at least one vinyl ether group and at least one polymerizable group selected from the group consisting of an acrylate group -and a methacrylate group; and c) at least one polymerizable or polymeric thioxanthone, with the proviso that if the at least one polymerizable or polymeric thioxanthone contains no tertiary amine group that the radiation curable composition further includes at least one tertiary amine co-initiator selected from the group consisting of ethylhexyl-4-dimethylaminobenzoate, a polymerizable co-initiator containing a tertiary amine and a polymeric co-initiator containing a tertiary amine; and (2) fully curing the jetted ink dots using one or more UV LEDs.

    Abstract: An inkjet printing method includes, in order, the steps of a) jetting a radiation curable inkjet ink on the outside surface of a packaging including a substance for human or animal consumption or administration; b) curing the radiation curable inkjet ink on the outer surface of the packaging; and c) treating the radiation curable inkjet ink and the packaging including the substance with a heat treatment to kill micro-organisms present on the inside surface of a packaging; wherein the radiation curable inkjet ink includes at least 5 wt % of a (meth)acrylated silicone surfactant based on the total weight of the radiation curable inkjet ink.

    Abstract: A method of inkjet printing a color image including a metallic or pearlescent color includes the steps of applying on part of an ink receiver a layer containing a pearlescent or metallic pigment having a volume mean particle size of at least 3.0 μm as measured by laser diffraction; and inkjet printing on part of the layer containing the pearlescent or metallic pigment a layer with a white inkjet ink containing a white pigment having an average particle size between 250 and 400 nm as measured by differential centrifugal sedimentation.
