摘要: An optical construction includes an optical film including a plurality of polymeric layers and an optical retarder disposed on the optical film. For a substantially normally incident light and for a visible wavelength range of about 420 nm to about 680 nm and an infrared wavelength range of about 900 nm to about 1100 nm: for the incident light polarized along each of mutually orthogonal in-plane first and second directions. the plurality of polymeric layers has an optical transmittance of greater than about 60% for at least one visible wavelength in the visible wavelength range and an optical reflectance of greater than about 60% for at least one infrared wavelength in the infrared wavelength range. For the incident light polarized along at least one of the first and second directions, the optical retarder has an optical retardance of greater than about 1000 nm at the at least one visible wavelength.

摘要: An optical sensing system includes an optical film and a transceiver configured to at least 5 one of emit and receive a first light toward an object through the optical film along a propagation direction making a first angle of greater than about 20 degrees in an air with a normal to the optical film. The first light has a first infrared wavelength in an infrared wavelength range extending from about 800 nm to about 2000 nm. For an incident light incident on the optical film in the air and having the first infrared wavelength and for at least one of mutually orthogonal first and second 10 polarization states, the optical film reflects at least 60% of the incident light at an incident angle of less than about 5 degrees, and transmits at least 40% of the incident light at an incident angle substantially equal to the first angle.

摘要: A system for measuring dimensions of film to be applied to a window includes a plurality of removable cards for placement on the window, each of the plurality of removable cards having a plurality of visible correspondence points at pre-defined positions on the respective removable card. The system further includes a mobile device having an image capture device, and the image capture device is configured to capture an image of the window having a set of correspondence points visible in the image. Additionally, the system includes a server configured to receive the image of the window captured by the mobile device and process the image to determine dimensions of a film to be cut for the window based on the set of correspondence points and the pre-defined positions, and processing the image removes perspective distortions in the image. The system is configured to output the dimensions of the film.

摘要: A multilayer optical film includes a plurality of optical repeat units where each of the optical repeat units includes at least individual first and second layers. The first and second layers in each of the optical repeat units have respective indices of refraction n1 and n2 and corresponding respective f-ratios f1 and f2 along a same in-plane first direction for a same first visible wavelength in a visible wavelength range extending from about 420 nm to about 680 nm, where n1>n2, and one of f1 and f2 is between about 0.55 and about 0.80. For illuminant D65 light incident on the multilayer optical film, the multilayer optical film reflects and transmits the incident light with the reflected and transmitted lights having color shifts below specified limits in a CIE L*a*b* color space. A glass laminate includes the multilayer optical film disposed between glass layers.

摘要: In certain embodiments, the present disclosure relates to low emissivity films and articles comprising them. Other embodiments are directed to methods of reducing emissivity in an article comprising the use of low emissivity films. In some embodiments, the low emissivity films comprise a metal layer and a pair of layers, one comprising a metal oxide such as zinc tin oxide and the other layer comprising a silicon compound, adjacent each of the two sides of the metal layer. This type of assembly may serve various purposes, including being used as a sun control film. These constructions may be used, for example, as window films on glazing units for reducing transmission of infrared radiation across the film in both directions.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to articles and methods of sealing light redirecting film constructions comprising a microstructured optical film, such as a daylight redirecting film, bonded to another film. This type of assembly may serve various purposes. For example, the assembly may protect the structured film, provide additional functionality, such as diffusion or infrared reflection, and/or facilitate attachment of the microstructured optical film to a mounting surface, such as a glazing or window pane. The methods for sealing the edge of a light redirecting construction inhibit ingress of water and other contaminants during the film installation and afterwards during its regular use.
