Abstract: A wireless communication system includes a transmitter configured to transmit at least first and second radio waves having respective different frequencies F1 and F2, an electrically conductive first passive substantially linear medium, an electrically conductive first passive substantially nonlinear medium disposed proximate the first passive substantially linear medium, and a first magnetic film covering at least a portion of the first passive substantially linear medium. When the transmitter transmits the first and second radio waves, the first passive substantially linear and nonlinear media receive the first and second radio waves and generate first and second signals propagating therein at the respective frequencies F1 and F2. At least one intermodulation signal having a frequency F3 equal to nF1+mF2, where m and n positive or negative integers, is generated in the first passive substantially nonlinear medium. The first magnetic film reduces the at least one intermodulation signal by at least 2 dB.

The at least two stacked optically transparent antennas includes a first antenna configured to operate over a first, but not a second, frequency band and a second antenna configured to operate over the second, but not the first, frequency band. The optically transparent antenna stack has an optical transmission of at least about 50% for at least one wavelength in a wavelength range from about 450 nm to about 600 nm.

Abstract: A thermally conductive electromagnetically absorbing material includes a plurality of particles dispersed in a binder. The plurality of particles can have a particle size distribution having at least three peaks, where at least a majority of particles within a half width at half maximum of one, but not the other ones, of the at least three peaks are at least partially coated with an electromagnetically absorbing coating. The plurality of particles can include pluralities of first and second particles where a total number of the first particles is at most 1% of a total number of the first and second particles and where the first particles are more electromagnetically absorbing than the second particles. Films, molded articles and systems including the thermally conductive electromagnetically absorbing material are described.

Abstract: A wireless communication system including an electrically conductive passive medium capable of simultaneously propagating therealong electromagnetic first and second currents at different respective frequencies F1 and F2, the electrically conductive passive medium including an electrically conductive first passive linear medium portion adjacent an electrically conductive first passive nonlinear medium portion, the first passive nonlinear medium portion capable of generating an intermodulation current based on a nonlinear interaction between the first and second currents, the intermodulation current having a frequency Fi equal to nF1+mF2 and propagating along the first passive nonlinear medium portion, m and n being positive or negative integers; and a first magnetic film disposed proximate an electrically conductive external surface of the first linear medium portion, such that when the first and second currents propagate along the first passive linear medium portion toward the first passive nonlinear medium portion, the magnetic film reduces or prevents the generation of the intermodulation current in the first passive nonlinear medium portion by attenuating at least portions of the first and second currents.

Abstract: An antenna assembly includes a phased array antenna having an array of spaced apart antenna elements arranged on a horizontal surface and having an axis of symmetry, and a lens disposed on the phased array antenna. The lens substantially covers the antenna elements. The lens includes a substantially planar bottom surface. The bottom surface and tops of the antenna elements define a gap therebetween. For a second vertical plane orthogonal to the horizontal surface and including the axis of symmetry. the antenna assembly steers a beam in a second vertical plane having a 3 dB beam width W1 when steered along a first direction making an angle of less than 10 degrees with a normal to the horizontal surface and a 3 dB beam width W2 when steered along a second direction making an angle of greater than 40 degrees with the normal. W1 and W2 within 35% of each other.
