Abstract: An apparatus for securing a tool to a hangtag is provided. A method for securing the tool is also provided. In one embodiment, the invention pertains to a hangtag assembly that includes a fastening mechanism for securing a tool having a shank portion, such as a socket driver. The hangtag has a body portion, and a hanging mechanism connected to the body portion. The hangtag also has a tool fastening mechanism for securely attaching a tool to the hangtag. The tool fastening mechanism includes one or more pairs of through-openings, and one or more ties, wherein each tie is wove around the shank of the tool and through a respective pair of through-openings. In another embodiment, the invention pertains to a hangtag assembly that includes a fastening mechanism for securing a circular tool having a centrally located hub portion defining an opening therethrough. The hangtag has a body portion with a plurality of apertures therethrough and a tool fastening mechanism for securely attaching a tool to the hangtag. The tool fastening mechanism includes one or more pairs of openings therethrough. One or more ties, may be woven through the openings of the fastening mechanism, the opening of the tool, and the apertures of the body.

Abstract: An apparatus for locking the head of a hand tool to the handle of the tool. The apparatus generally includes a tapered handle with one or more groove cut into the handle at the tool end of the handle. The grooves are then filled with a compressible material. The head of the tool (such as a pick axe, a hammer, an axe, etc.) is then placed over handle and moved over the grooves to the end. The compressible material will lock the head into place, fixing a longstanding problem with hand tools of the heads coming loose.

Abstract: An improved hand truck apparatus for use in moving loads up and down stair which includes a pair of novel stair tread engaging assemblies which operate smoothly and in a relatively friction-free manner. The stair engaging belts of each of the stair tread engaging assemblies is supported by a plurality of freely rotating, spaced-apart rollers which are grooved to closely receive and support the lower portion of the belts in the manner to positively guide the belts around the belt supporting frames of the assemblies as the rollers freely rotate about their individual axles. The roller supporting frame of each of the stair tread engaging assemblies is uniquely provided with guide means for guiding the stair tread engaging belts into the channels formed in the rollers and for preventing undesirable frictional contact between the belt and the supporting frame as the belt travels about the supporting rollers.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved laser level. In one embodiment, the laser level comprises a housing having a base. The laser level further comprises any combination of an anchor assembly, a suction assembly, or a magnet to be used for attaching the laser level to a surface. An adjustment assembly provides control and precision by allowing leveling or plumbing of the laser level after it attaches to the surface and by converting a relatively large rotation of an adjustment handle into a finer leveling adjustment of the laser level. In an embodiment, the laser level attaches to an auxiliary base that allows leveling of the laser level in two perpendicular planes and allows the laser level to attach to a tripod for use horizontally, vertically, and angles in between. Abstract: A shingle removal tool includes a cutting head attached to a handle, the cutting head having a flat leading portion on which a series of nail engaging slots are formed creating a series of sharp tapered cutting edges at a leading end and a fulcrum edge at a trailing edge. An intermediate portion integrally connects the flat leading portion with the handle. The intermediate portion is curved preferably in the form of an arc of a circle to provide a concave inner surface that imparts a curvature to the lifted shingles and propels them in the direction of advancement of the tool and away from the user. A nail removing opening is provided on the intermediate portion so that larger nails can be removed by lifting the handle which smaller nails can be sheared off by the cutting edges or lifted by the engaging slots by lowering the handle. The tool is ergonomicaly dimensioned to facilitate use by users of average height with confortable and limited movements to increase efficiency of use and to minimize fatigue.
