Abstract:
A clamp for mounting a structure on a support. The clamp includes a fixed jaw, a base, and a moveable thruster plate between the fixed jaw and the base. The clamp includes a thruster cylinder configured to be rotateably received through the clamp body and having threads that engage a screw so that when the thruster cylinder rotates, the screw is advanced or retracted to move the thruster plate into and out of engagement with the support. A knob is used to rotate the thruster cylinder. The base includes an annular opening for storing a spring and receiving the screw and the thruster cylinder. The clamp is configured so that when the thruster plate engages the support, further axial movement of the screw is prevented and further rotation of the knob and thruster cylinder compresses the spring thereby causing the thruster plate to apply additional force to the support.
Abstract:
A clamp assembly a fixed end support, a movable end support and a handle disposed in one end support or the other. The handle is rotated using an electric tool, such as a drill. A female receiver is disposed within a rearward end of the handle. A male driver is removably held within a chuck of the electric drill and is inserted into the receiver to rotate and then tighten or loosen the support end of the clamp. Alternatively, the clamp assembly has a male portion that is disposed at a rear portion of an end support and a female driver is used to rotate and then tighten or loosen the clamp from the wood pieces. The female receiver and male driver can be used with either a movable end support or a stationary end support of the clamp, as could the male portion and the female driver.
Abstract:
Devices and methods provide for measuring applied pressure on an article, such as a patella construct during a surgical procedure. Embodiments include a clamp having an upper frame arm, a lower frame arm and a clamp assembly, and further include a clamp with a knob assembly and a pressure monitor assembly. Differently sized bushing adapters can be interchangeably employed with a clamp stem to adapt to the relative sizes of objects being clamped.
Abstract:
A clamp (10) comprises a plastic molded threaded screw portion (12) and a molded U-shaped plastic clamp portion (26). The U-shaped plastic clamp portion (26) has two legs (28, 30) projecting from a base (32). One of the two legs (28) has molded plastic threads (29) which engage plastic threads (15) of the plastic threaded screw portion (12). The plastic molded screw portion (12) has a swivel portion (20) which swivels relative to the plastic molded screw portion. A method of making an injection molded plastic clamp (10) comprises molding a first plastic clamp portion (12) in a mold, molding a second U-shaped plastic clamp portion (26) to the first clamp portion in a mold containing the first clamp portion to form an assembled injection molded plastic clamp.
Abstract:
One aspect of the present disclosure provides an insert press that has a threaded shaft with a distal end. An insert driver is disposed at the distal end of the threaded shaft. The insert press also includes a press housing that provides a bore through which the threaded shaft extends. The bore is transformable from a first condition in which the threaded shaft is threadably translatable in the bore to a second condition in which the threaded shaft is non-threadably translatable in the bore.
Abstract:
A clamp system having a clamp adapted to be removably fastened to a wide variety of stationary support forming a base on which additional clamps or rods may be mounted for the purpose of holding a workpiece, the clamp including a tensioning device allowing a piece of cord to be looped over a part of the workpiece and pulled taut to bind the workpiece to the clamp. The cord is quickly and easily attachable to the clamp, fixed in place under tension, and quickly and easily released. The clamp comprises: a frame, clamping screw subassembly, at least one jamming cleat formed as part of the frame, and adjustable connector feature formed as part of the frame for connecting two or more frames together. A length of cord may be tensioned and secured within the jamming cleat of the frame and means is provided for anchoring the cord within the clamping plate.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a clamping device mountable to a bench top for setting an edge piece to an edge thereof such that the edge piece projects from the bench top at a predetermined angle, with interengaging surfaces of the edge piece and edge being formed with mating mitres whereby a mitre joint is formed between the edge piece and the bench top, the clamping device comprising a body, a first clamping means supported from the body for clamping the device to the bench top, a second clamping means supported from the body for applying clamping pressure to the mitre joint, and first and second locators carried by the body and engageable with the edge piece and bench top respectively to maintain them in the required configuration during clamping. There is also disclosed a related method of attaching an edge piece to an edge of a bench top.
Abstract:
A quick adjustable clamp includes a first clamp jaw, a second clamp jaw, a driving screw and a nut. The second clamp jaw is extended with a receiving section. The receiving section is formed with a notch facing the first clamp jaw. The driving screw has one end pivotally connected to the first clamp jaw. The nut is mounted around the driving screw and configured to be movably received in the notch. For quick adjusting a span of the clamp, the nut can be removed from the notch, quick moved along the driving screw, and then reengaged by the notch.
Abstract:
A clamping device comprises a driving cylinder, a buffering assembly, a first clamping member, and a second clamping member. The first clamping member and the second clamping member are mounted to the driving cylinder. The buffering assembly comprises a fixing member, a guiding rail, a guiding rod, and an elastic member. The fixing member comprises a first mounting portion and a second mounting portion. The first mounting portion defines a through hole. The guiding rail is mounted to the fixing member and located between the first mounting portion and the second mounting portion. The driving cylinder is mounted to the guiding rail. A first end of the guiding rod is movably received through the through hole, and a second end of the guiding rod is fixed to the driving cylinder. Opposite ends of the elastic member resist against the first mounting portion and the driving cylinder, respectively.
Abstract:
The device utilizes a thruster cylinder driven by a enlarged knob and terminating in a thruster plate to clamp to a support. Provision is made to attach a device to the clamp through a rotating index wheel which can lock the device by receiving a tang from a trigger lever at a selected increment of rotation. A second embodiment has two index wheels so that the attached device can be displaced in one of four directions to avoid conflict with other devices on the same support. The second axis is normally used to return a displaced device to an upright orientation.
