Abstract: A system manages resources among groups of workers that are connected to one another through a network. The system maintains the security of the resources and improves the operations of the groups.Each group manages the rights to use resources such as windows, objects, and data belonging to the group. Each group is allowed to use only resources whose rights to use are allocated to the group. The groups may exchange the resources among them through a job monitor (2). The job monitor automatically handles the rights to use the resources among the groups according to the working conditions of the groups, procedures, and a job definition form (11). The groups independently and cooperatively carry out jobs. The system employs telephones and pagers to access the members of the groups if they are absent from predetermined locations, to improve the operations of each group.

Abstract: There is provided a terminal automatically executing access processing to a URL registered in advance on a network in response to the cancellation operation of the power saving mode. This enables to execute accessing the predetermined URL on the network only by the cancellation operation of the power saving mode without need of an extra operation for the processing. Also, in a terminal having a folding mechanism, predetermined processing is automatically executed in response to the open motion from the closed condition. This enables to execute the predetermined processing only by the open motion without need of an extra operation for the processing. Thus operability of the terminal is improve, and as a result, convenience for the user is improved.

Abstract: A mail system equipped with a mail address manager for managing a mail address or addresses of one or more destinations. When a mail address of a particular destination is updated, the mail address manager registers the old mail address of the particular destination and a new mail address in correlation with each other. The result is that, even when the mail address of an intended destination has been updated, a mail source can proceed to send an e-mail, which is addressed to the intended destination at the old mail address, exactly to the intended destination without checking whether the mail address of the intended destination has been updated. Also at the mail source, it is possible to send an e-mail exactly to an intended destination without checking a restriction on a system environment of the intended destination.
