    Abstract: A location of a client in a private network where the client has a plurality of interfaces for using a plurality of internet gateways for coupling with the public internet can be determined by sending, from the client, a plurality of STUN BINDING requests to a STUN server connected to the public internet that each exit through an individual internet gateway, receiving, at the client, a plurality of STUN BINDING responses from the STUN server that each include public IP address mapped to the internet gateway through which the STUN BINDING request has exited the private network, sending, from the client, a plurality of location requests that each include a mapped public IP address and the corresponding private IP address, to a location server for looking up location data for the respective private IP addresses so the client can receive location data relating to the public IP addresses.

    Abstract: A method in which a communication device can be configured with a MAC address so that when the user logs into a network environment using a communication device from among a number of communication devices a MAC address is assigned to the user and is specific to the user. The MAC address assignment can be used for pairing with a communication device assigned to the user (e.g. a near-field communication device). A database containing MAC addresses can be connected to communication devices through a network and can provide user-specific MAC addresses that are readable into or otherwise transmittable to a predetermined communication device when a user logs into the network. The database can be managed by a server or other computer device of the network.

    Abstract: A computer-implemented method of processing an emergency incident can include routing a first emergency call and a second emergency call; verifying that the first emergency call and the second emergency call relate to the same emergency incident; establishing a conference bridge between communication terminals of first and second agents who were assigned the first and second calls so the agents are able to communicate via the conference bridge and to merge the first emergency call and the second emergency call that relate to the same emergency incident. If the first and second emergency calls are merged, a message can be sent to a services provider device (e.g. police station device, fire station device, etc.) for handling the emergency incident. A communication apparatus can be provided to implement embodiments of the method as well.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for automatically registering a user in a desk-share environment comprising a plurality of desks, each desk being equipped with an IP telephone connected to a communication network, in particular, to a local area network, wherein the IP telephone holds a data base comprising data of all desk-share users of the desk-share environment, the data comprising at least a user ID and a MAC address of a terminal device for each user assigned to a user profile, the method comprising the steps of: receiving, at the IP telephone, an IP data packet from a first terminal device via the communication network; verifying the MAC address in the IP data packet received from the first terminal device; and when the MAC address corresponds to a MAC address in the data of the data base, activating the user profile assigned to the MAC address in the IP telephone. Further, the invention relates to an IP telephone which is adapted to carry out the method for automatically registering a user in a desk-share environment.
