Abstract:
The present application provides a combination product for the treatment and/or prevention of psychiatric and/or neurological disorders. The combination product comprises (i) a compound which promotes neurogenesis and has hallucinogenic and/or psychedelic side effects, and (ii) a 5-HT2A receptor antagonist which alleviates and/or removes the hallucinogenic and/or psychedelic side effects caused by the first compound.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a lipid system which not only improves stability during digestion and oral bioavailability of various bioactive compounds in a safe and effective manner, but also in many cases enhances the effects of said compounds. The present invention also relates to formulations or compositions comprising lipid systems carrying bioactive compounds for use as immunotherapy potentiators or adjuvants for patients with cancer or immunological disorders.
Abstract:
The present invention refers to an In vitro method for screening for subjects at risk of developing thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA) or a disease causing TAA comprising: (a) measuring the expression pattern or level of at least A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase with Thrombospondin Motifs 1 (ADAMTS1) obtained from an isolated biological sample of the subjects to be screened; and (b) comparing said expression pattern or level of at least ADAMTS1 of the subjects to be screened with an already established expression pattern or level, wherein reduced expression of at least ADAMTS1 is indicative of a thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the fields of medicine and cancer treatment. The invention more specifically relates to the use of a compound capable of decreasing or inhibiting, in vitro or ex vivo, the expression and/or activity of MAFG and thus increasing ROS-production and chemotherapy sensitivity, specifically in cancer cells resistant to platinum-based therapy. The present disclosure further relates to uses of such compounds, in particular to prepare a pharmaceutical composition to allow or improve the efficiency of a therapy of cancer in a subject in need thereof. The compound of the invention can indeed be advantageously used, in combination with at least one chemotherapeutic dmg, for treating cancer, for preventing cancer metastasis, increasing overall survival and/or for preventing cancer recurrence in a subject. The invention also discloses methods for preventing or treating cancer, cancer metastasis and/or cancer recurrence in a subject, as well as kits suitable for preparing a composition according to the present invention and/or for implementing the herein described methods.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of ruthenium(II) complexes for preparing a medicinal product for treating cancer, particularly cancer comprising cancer stem cells. Said ruthenium complexes are capable of selectively metallating guanine quadruplexes, thus resulting in increased expression of the c-MYC oncogene. This increase in the proportion of c-MYC may promote the differentiation of cancer stem cells.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a SOCS1-derived peptide for use in chronic complications of diabetes, particularly ocular, renal, nerve and vascular complications, as well as compositions containing same and isolated polynucleotides encoding same. The present invention also relates to the SOCS1-derived peptide for topical use in the treatment and/or prevention of neurodegenerative diseases of the retina, particularly in the early stages of diabetic retinopathy and other diseases of the retina in which neurodegeneration plays an essential role.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a group of compounds with a structural nucleus derived from phenylacetamide, having the following formula (I): that can modulate the DREAM neuronal calcium sensor. Consequently, the present invention also relates to the use of these compounds for the treatment or prevention of disorders or diseases in which DREAM levels are above or below physiologically normal levels.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of the insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) as a reagent for the early diagnosis and/or prognosis of Alzheimer disease, to a kit comprising IGF-1 and a sedative, and to the use thereof in the early diagnosis and/or prognosis of Alzheimer disease.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the field porous crystalline materials, more particularly to metal organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs). According to this invention, micelles are used as nanoreactors for the synthesis and stabilisation of porous crystalline materials in aqueous dispersions. Disclosed are dispersions comprising such porous crystalline materials, the synthesis and use of such dispersions. Further disclosed are novel porous crystalline materials, the synthesis and use of such crystalline materials. Further disclosed are novel inks comprising the dispersions and non-solvent, the synthesis and use of such inks for direct printing, 2D printing and 3D printing.
