The at least one contact defines a retaining portion (21) retained in the at least one groove, a contacting portion (23) bending into the cavity and at least one guiding portion (24) extending from the contacting portion along a mating direction for guiding the mating connector to enter into the receiving cavity, and a free edge (241) of the at least one guiding portion extends into the corresponding at least one groove.

The shell comprises a top surface (11), a pair of lateral surfaces (13, 14), respectively, connecting with the top surface, and a rear surface (15), respectively, bent from the lateral surfaces. The two-part rear surface comprises a base plate (151) and a shielded plate (152) extending rearwardly from the base plate. Each contact comprises a tail portion (32) exposed out of the insulative housing. The shielded plate is above and covers the tail portions of the contacts.

The main body further includes a receiving space surrounded by a top surface (113), a bottom surface (117), and a pair of lateral surfaces (114). The connecting tab only connects with one edge of said surface of the main body. The mating portion extends from the connecting tab in the front-to-back direction. The insulative housing includes a base portion (21) received in the receiving space of the main body of the shell, and a tongue portion (22) extending from the base portion along the mating direction and received in the mating portion of the shell.

The cable end connector comprises a housing (1) receiving a number of contacts (2) therein. The housing defines a first receiving space ( 110a) for receiving the header connector and a second space (110b) for receiving front ends of the wires. The contacts are located between the first and second spaces, and each having a soldering portion (21) and a contacting portion (22).
