The present invention relates to a novel dry concentrate for producing medical solutions, more particularly dialysis solutions, which comprises electrolyte components, buffer components and an osmotic agent, wherein the concentrate comprises magnesium carbonate instead of magnesium chloride. The use of magnesium carbonate as an electrolyte prevents the formation of slurries. By providing anhydrous glucose as an osmotic agent, and by optionally spatially separating this osmotic agent from other components, the occurrence of caking of the concentrate is additionally avoided. The occurrence of caking is further reduced by providing the buffer component sodium bicarbonate together with sodium chloride separate from all other components. The concentrate of the present invention is particularly suitable for use in multi-chamber container bag systems. The concentrate of the present invention exhibits good dissolution behaviour and improved storage stability.

A light transmitting device for use in a viewing apparatus or optical device, particularly a night vision device. The device is composed of a material which is capable of transmitting light from a remote source. Light from a visible indicator such as an LED is transferred through at least one outer flat to an inner flat of the device. The inner flat provides a signal to the user that the power supply is low. An additional outer flat and inner flat provides a signal to the user that the infrared illuminator is in operation. A projection formed along the outer periphery of the device prevents rotation and aids in assembling the device in a viewing apparatus. With the light transmitting device, there is no need for a separate device attached to the housing of an optical device for indicating power supply. The device also avoids the presence of overlapping light signals in the user's eyes, by transferring separate channels of light from locations outside the field-of-view to specific locations inside the field-of-view of an optical device.

The present invention is a multifunctional night vision monocular that is adapted for use by a soldier as a hand-held spotting scope, a helmet mounted scope, a head mounted scope, and a weapon mounted scope depending upon circumstances and the needs of the soldier. The night vision monocular is a self-contained unit capable of carrying its own power source. A universal mount on the bottom of the night vision monocular enables either a helmet mounting adaptor or a weapon sight mount to be quickly added to the monocular. The night vision monocular contains a GEN III image intensifier tube positioned between an objective lens assembly and an eyepiece lens assembly. The housing of the night vision monocular opens in a plane perpendicular to the optical axis, thereby enabling easy access to the various optical elements for repairs, maintenance and replacement. A reduced number of wire leads are used within the night vision monocular thereby reducing manufacturing costs and improving reliability. The image intensifier tube is directly coupled to a circuit board that provides power to the image intensifier tube. As such, the image intensifier tube can be replaced without cutting leads or soldering.
