Abstract:
A method is described for producing an L-amino acid or a nucleic acid by culturing a microorganism having an ability to produce the L-amino acid or nucleic acid in a liquid medium in a fermentation tank containing a stirring impeller, and optionally adding seed crystals to the medium as required to produce and accumulate crystals of the L-amino acid or nucleic acid in the medium, and collecting crystals of the L-amino acid or nucleic acid from the culture. The power density of the stirring impeller is controlled to be 2.4 kW/m3 or lower after either precipitation of the crystals or addition of the seed crystals.
Abstract:
An optical disc unit is disclosed, comprising a turntable on which an optical disc is placed, an optical pickup, guide shafts for guiding the optical pickup radially of the optical disc, first and second support members, as well as third and fourth support members, for supporting the guides shafts respectively, the turntable, the optical pickup, the guide shafts, and the first to fourth support members being disposed on a chassis, the second and fourth support members being respectively provided with pawl pieces spaced a predetermined gap from end portions of the guide shafts. Near the second and fourth support members are disposed adjust screws for adjusting the height of end portions of the guide shafts, as well as torsion coil springs for urging the guide shafts elastically. When the above end portions of the guide shafts are displaced away from upper end faces of the adjust screws, the displacement is restricted by the pawl pieces of the second and fourth support members.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of disassembling a plasma display panel (“PDP”) for reutilization. A first method uses a component, which is thermally not contractible at a softening temperature of bonding material used for hermetically bonding a front and back plates, and positioned between the plates. The above component maintains or widens a space provided between the two plates when the PDP is heated, thereby facilitating disassembly of the PDP. The invention also provides a groove on a surface of either or both plates for communicating the bonding material to an exterior of the PDP. Softened bonding material can be drawn out or absorbed through the groove. Heating and cooling of the PDP may be made through a laminated graphite sheet placed on a surface of the PDP for uniformalizing thermal distribution. A second method separates a PDP into two plates by immersing the PDP in etching solution capable of selectively dissolving only lead glass, and melting the bonding material. A groove is provided between the perimeter of an image display screen and a bonded portion in order to prevent etching solution from permeating into the screen area. The groove is formed on the substrates in parallel with a longitudinal direction of electrodes. The separated plates are refurbished by restoring a deteriorated or defective portion into the original condition for use in manufacturing a new PDP.
Abstract:
The wire handling apparatus of the present invention comprises a length measuring unit, a first clamp mechanism and a second clamp mechanism, a cutter mechanism, a first terminal pressing mechanism and a second terminal pressing mechanism, a first carrier mechanism and a second carrier mechanism, and a wire discharge mechanism, and synchronous moving means for upwardly/downwardly moving a receiving clamp part of the wire discharge mechanism in synchronization with upward/downward movement of a clamp part of the said second clamp mechanism in a terminal pressing operation of the said second terminal pressing mechanism is provided while the position of the said receiving clamp part is coincided with the position of a coated wire so that grasping of the coated wire by the receiving clamp part is enabled in the terminal pressing operation of the second terminal pressing mechanism.
Abstract:
An equipment support structure capable of permitting the vertical arrangement or orientation of a damper spring to be readily carried out irrespective of the posture of setting of an equipment, A damper link which is pivotally moved depending upon the position of setting of an equipment is pivotally mounted at the proximal end thereof on one of the equipment and mount for supporting the equipment through dampers and a damper spring is provided between the damper link and the other of the mount and equipment for offsetting load applied from the equipment to the dampers and operatively connected to the damper ling so as to be pivotally moved in association with the damper link.
Abstract:
Velocity, at which a work point of a robot passes through respective reference points, has previously been given magnitude and directions dependent on a relative positional relation between a plurality of continuous reference points. The work point passes through the respective reference points. Between adjacent reference points, interpolation arithmetic is performed along the above condition, whereby the work point defines a smooth locus in accordance with the result of the arithmetic.
Abstract:
Provided is a communication device for measuring a usable bandwidth without delay in transmission of primary data. The relay device according to an embodiment of the present invention, when measuring a usable bandwidth in communication with another relay device, processes a user packet including a user data to be transmitted to the other relay device so as to be changed into a specific packet size while the user data is maintained as it is, and utilizes it as a measurement packet. Accordingly, even though it is a measurement packet for performing measurement of a bandwidth, since it includes user data, it may be treated in the same manner as a user packet thereby enabling an efficient use of a communication network in communication. Also, even though UDP is used, since a usable bandwidth can be measured, it is possible to measure a bandwidth even though streaming data is distributed while preventing any influences on the distribution.
Abstract:
A cartridge chucking apparatus capable of stably and correctly restricting the position of a cartridge with an improved reliability and precision. A cartridge is provided with a circle hole and an elongated hole as reference holes for restricting an in-plane position of the cartridge. The cartridge chucking apparatus has: a loading chassis having projections for holding the cartridge and restricting the position in the height direction and support shafts for supporting the loading chassis while it is raised or lowered; a base chassis having reference planes for squeezing the cartridge with the projections at a recording/reproducing position of the loading chassis to restrict the position in the height direction and positioning pins formed on the reference planes for being inserted into the reference holes to restrict an in-plane position of the cartridge; and elastic members for energizing the loading chassis so that first the positioning pin is inserted into the circle hole of the cartridge.
Abstract:
A disk selecting mechanism is disclosed, in which a slide plate is moved forward and backward by driving a slide link by means of a driving gear and a disk conveying portion is moved according thereto in the up and downward direction by a stepwise cam portion disposed on the slide link so as to set it at an arbitrary position in the up and downward direction, in order to select an arbitrary disk from a magazine.
