Abstract:
An approach for sharing and/or viewing one or more remixes of content based on the preferences of a user is described. A segmentation platform causes, at least in part, a segmentation of content into one or more segments, wherein the one or more segments are associated with one or more content labels. The segmentation platform also causes, at least in part, a rendering and/or sharing of one or more remixes of the content based, at least in part, on at least one subset of the one or more segments based, at least in part, on profile information, context information, or a combination thereof associated with one or more viewers of the content, one or more owners of the content, one or more sharers of the content.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and computer program product select content segments based at least in part on a contextual similarity level between the content segments and at least one of brightness levels, blur levels, and shake levels of the content segments. As such, a resultant video may be produced that comprises selected content segments. Accordingly, brightness levels of the content may be improved and shake and blur levels reduced while maintaining a desired field of view.

Abstract:
An approach is provided for enriching media with meta-information blocks. Specifically, one or more segments of one or more media files are processed to determine meta-information (e.g., topics, annotations, meta-data, etc.) related to the one or more segments. Based on the determined meta-information, other media or related meta-information is determined, analyzed, and appended to the original media as one or more meta-blocks. One or more relationships among the original and other media is then determined. Based on the determination of the one or more relationships, topic blocks (i.e., multi-topic links) are generated and associated with the original and other media. The addition of the meta-blocks and topic blocks to the original media enables either a renderer or a service to generate one or more composite media (e.g., a video mashup) based on the navigation and analysis of media determined as a result of traversing the one or more topic blocks.
Abstract:
An approach is provided for determining the existence of an event based on information collected from mobile devices. Reception is caused, at least in part, of media from a plurality of mobile devices. A plurality of event vectors for the respective mobile devices is determined. Each of the event vectors includes geo-location information and timing information of the corresponding mobile device. The existence of the event is determined based on the received media and the event vectors.
Abstract:
An apparatus may include a landmark selector configured to receive selection of a landmark. A sensory device may determine at least one position indicator relating to alignment with the landmark from a sensing location, such as orientation, attitude, and/or altitude. The apparatus may further include a position determiner configured to determine a relative position of the sensing location with respect to the landmark based at least in part on the position indicator. Accordingly, the apparatus may determine the relative position of the sensing location with respect to the landmark. In some embodiments the apparatus may be further configured to determine the absolute position of the sensing location. Thereby position information may be used, for example, to create collaborative content captured at an event occurring near the landmark.
Abstract:
An apparatus providing for transmission of a desired content segment to a receiving device may include a content preview unit for displaying a content preview corresponding to a content segment captured by a content capturing device. A content capturing device selector may receive a selection of the content capturing device which satisfies one or more predefined conditions as determined by a condition testing unit of the apparatus. Once selected, a control unit may allow for control of the content capturing device with the receiving device to thereby capture a desired content segment. Control may occur directly or indirectly, such as through providing written control instructions, which may be translated using a translator of the apparatus. Thus, the apparatus may provide for transmission of the desired content segment to the receiving device.

Abstract:
An apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code may be configured to receive data corresponding to a first media content from a user captured by a first media capturing device. The apparatus may be configured to determine at least one media capturing parameter of the first media content to be changed. The apparatus may be configured to cause information regarding the media capturing parameter of the first media content to be changed to be transmitted to at least the first media capturing device. The apparatus may be configured to receive a second media content from a user captured by the first media capturing device, wherein the second media content differs from the first media content by at least the media capturing parameter to be changed. Corresponding methods and computer program products are also provided.
