The present invention provides a method for stabilizing an anti-dementia drug in a pharmaceutical composition containing the anti-dementia drug and a high molecular weight basic substance by adding a high molecular weight acidic substance to said pharmaceutical composition. Further, the present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition containing an anti-dementia drug and a high molecular basic substance in which a high molecular weight acidic substance is contained for stabilizing the anti-dementia drug. Furthermore, the present invention provides a method for manufacturing a pharmaceutical composition which comprises steps wherein a solution or suspension containing a high molecular weight acidic substance is added to a mixture of an anti-dementia drug and a high molecular weight basic substance for the sake of stabilizing the anti-dementia drug.

There are provided a suction unit which sucks a recording medium, and a unit which changes sucking force of the suction unit according to the property of the recording medium. Hereby, since the sucking force of the suction unit can be set according to a state of the recording medium. Therefore, for example, even if the recording medium is greatly curled, since its recording medium can be surely sucked on the transporting surface of the recording medium by the suction unit. Further, even if the recording medium has little rigidity and is thin, it is possible to prevent the recording medium from being stuck on the transporting surface of the recording medium by the suction unit.

In a device for supplying liquid from a liquid cartridge to a liquid ejection head via a liquid supply channel, a cartridge chamber accommodates the liquid cartridge. A valve is disposed between the liquid cartridge and the liquid supply channel. A control lever is adapted to be manually operated by a user to control the valve so as to connect or disconnect the liquid cartridge and the liquid supply channel.

The present invention provides a composition containing a benzamidine derivative that does not decompose even when placed under humidification conditions and a method for stabilizing a benzamidine derivative. According to the present invention, decomposition reaction of a benzamidine derivative can be suppressed by adding to a benzamidine derivative represented by general formula (I) or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof, at least one type of electrolyte selected from the group consisting of halide salts of alkaline metal or alkaline earth metal and alkaline metal salts or alkaline earth metal salts of perchloric acid.

The invention provides sustained release formulations comprising donepezil, stereoisomers of donepezil, pharmaceutically acceptable salts of donepezil, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts of stereoisomers of donepezil. The formulations have desirable pharmacokinetic characteristics. Examples include AUC, Tmax, Cmax, dosage-corrected AUC, and dosage-corrected Cmax.

In a receiver for receiving a recording medium discharged from a recording apparatus, a pivotable receiving member receives the recording medium. A pivotable supporting member supports the receiving member so as to place one of a plurality of pivoting angles of the receiving member respectively associated with a plurality of using modes of the receiver. The receiver is provided in the leg section of the recording apparatus which is arranged below a discharging section from which the recording medium is discharged.

An object of the present invention is to provide, for the case of implementing a therapeutic method in which at least two kinds of anti-dementia drugs are used together, a composition that has a good therapeutic effect on the dementia, and also gives excellent compliance. Another object of the present invention is to provide a composition containing at least two kinds of the anti-dementia drugs, for which release of the anti-dementia drugs from the composition is controlled, whereby a combined effect of the anti-dementia drugs can be achieved well. Still another object of the present invention is to provide: a composition, for which the frequency of administration and the amount taken are reduced, and hence compliance can be improved; and a method of manufacturing such a composition. According to the present invention, there are provided a composition containing at least two kinds of the anti-dementia drugs; such a composition containing at least one sustained release portion containing an anti-dementia drug; and such a composition containing at least one cholinesterase inhibitor, and at least one N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor antagonist.

A tube pump for an ink jet printer includes a driving wheel that is selectively driven in a forward or reverse direction in accordance with the rotation of a drive source. The driving wheel contains two slots that extend symmetrically and radially from the center of the driving wheel. The pump also includes two rollers that are coupled to the drive wheel via roller shafts respectively extending from a radial center of the rollers into the slots. A pressing piece is also provided that forces the shafts into the radially outermost end of the slots to press a tube of the tube pump when said drive wheel rotates in reverse and forces the shafts into the radially innermost end of the slots to not press the tube when said drive wheel rotates in the forward direction. In an alternative arrangement, the tube pump contains a pump chamber, and a tube having an .alpha.-like-shaped loop portion is inserted into and disposed along the inner wall of the pump chamber. A driving wheel train is provided, rotated around a shaft of the pump chamber, and has a single roller that cooperates with the inner wall of the pump chamber to press the tube. Also, a guide slot is formed in the driving wheel train to transfer the roller between a tube pressurizing state and a tube nonpressurizing state based on the rotation of the driving wheel train.
