Abstract: The disclosure optimizes suction force. An inkjet printing apparatus (1) includes a suction table (2) having a placement surface (21a) for the medium (M); a blower (52) that generates a suction force on the placement surface (21a); and a control device (55) that controls a suction force generated by the blower (52). The control device (55) includes a switcher (553) that switches the suction force to generate, where when the medium (M) is placed on the placement surface (21a), the switcher (553) drives the blower (52) at a first output level to generate a first suction force, and suctions the medium (M) placed on the placement surface (21a). Thereafter, the blower (52) is driven at the second output level lower than the first output level to generate the second suction force weaker than the first suction force, thereby suctioning the medium M placed on the placement surface (21a).

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and systems for a vacuum conveyor for inkjet printing with adjustment to the covered area are disclosed. In some embodiments, a controller of a vacuum conveyor expands first one or more actuators of multiple first actuators of a substrate transportation system to decrease a suction width of an area of suction provided by the vacuum conveyor in accordance with a substrate width of a substrate being inkjet printed using the vacuum conveyor. A second one or more actuators of the multiple first actuators being retracted. The controller retracts multiple second actuators of the vacuum conveyor to increase the suction length of the area of suction while the substrate transportation system moves the substrate along the vacuum conveyor for inkjet printing of the substrate. The controller expands the retracted actuators of the multiple first actuators to increase the suction length as the substrates exit the vacuum conveyor.

Abstract: In some examples, a printing press includes a non-impact printing device, and further includes a plurality of processing stations that each process sheets. In the printing press, at least one lifting nozzle is arranged in a profile element of a guide device. The lifting nozzle is configured to open in a direction of a tip of a tapered profile element. A suction belt feed table includes a catching device having a catching position, which is assumed as a result of an actuation, for adjacent individual sheets that follow one another. The catching device, in its catching position, catches sheets on the suction belt feed table that are fed from a first transport device, which is arranged upstream from the suction belt feed table, to the suction belt feed table, before the sheets are transferred to a transport device arranged downstream from the suction belt feed table and stacked there.

Abstract: A printing system comprises one or more printheads arranged to eject ink to a deposition region. Print media are held by vacuum suction against a movable support surface, which transports the print media though the deposition region. The vacuum suction is communicated from a vacuum source to the movable support surface via a vacuum plenum. An airflow control system comprises one or more dampers arranged in the vacuum plenum to control airflow between the vacuum source and the movable support surface. The dampers have an adjustable impedance to airflow through the damper. The airflow control system is configured to adjust the impedance of the damper based on a detected condition of the printing system. A detected condition of the printing system may include, for example, a sensed pressure in the vacuum plenum.

Abstract: An ink jet recording apparatus includes a recording head, a transport device, and a suction device.
