    摘要: The present invention provides a trap for a vapor species, particularly a pnictide.sub.4 vapor species, for a vacuum system of the type including a vacuum chamber communicating with a forepump through a vacuum line. The trap may be positioned within the vacuum chamber itself, or in the alternative, the trap may be located between the vacuum chamber and the forepump. The trap includes a housing for a cracker, which may be a heated filament or a plasma, which cracks the pnictide vapor species into pnictide.sub.2. The walls of the housing are cooled so that the trapped pnictide species readily forms a film and adheres to the walls of the housing. The pnictide.sub.4 vapor species, which may be harmful to the operation of a forepump, is prevented from entering the forepump. A removable sleeve can be positioned in the housing so that the cracked species adheres to it. The sleeve may be removed from the housing for maintenance and replacement purposes. When the trap is located within the vacuum chamber itself, it also functions to reduce background pnictide.sub.4 pressure in that chamber.

    摘要: The present invention presents a multimedia signal distribution device that implements the Electronics Industry Association (EIA) "Node Zero" standard for a Consumer Electronics Bus (CEBus) signal distribution network. The preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a block frequency conversion loop that is combined with other conventional electronic devices to accomplish the multimedia signal frequency conversion, filtering and distribution functions required of the ideal Node Zero device set forth in the EIA CEBus standard. The present invention preferably implements the CEBus block frequency conversion, input and output band-pass filtering, and signal amplification requirements by a block frequency conversion loop comprised of the following components which process the internal signal block in the following series order: (a) passive first low-pass or band-pass filter; (b) a 1000 MHz first frequency mixer; (c) an intermediate frequency (IF) filter; (d) a 38 dB signal amplifier; (e) a selectable second frequency mixer and (f) a tunable second low-pass or band-pass filter 11. Optionally, a broad-band quadrature signal phase shifting device may be implemented in conjunction with a signal coupling balun transformer at the input and output, respectively, of the first frequency mixer. This quadrature phase shifting improves the filtering of the internal signal block after the quadrature outputs have been shifted by the first frequency mixer to an intermediate frequency (IF) signal range.

    摘要: A digitizer uses acoustic waves originating from a stylus to determine the position of the stylus on a plate. The acoustic waves are introduced into the plate from the tip of the stylus and are detected by a plurality of detectors positioned at various points along the periphery of the plate. By sensing differences in the arrival times of the acoustic waves at the detectors, a microprocessor calculates the position of the stylus. In a preferred embodiment using a non-tethered stylus, four detectors are positioned at the corners of a rectangle, and the time differences are used as addresses in a lookup table, which is programmed to contain x and y coordinates corresponding to the time differences, Different embodiments may detect only the "fast" symmetrical waves or only the "slow" antisymmetrical waves generated in the plate, or may use the arrival times of both types of waves to determine the stylus position.

    摘要: A fore line trap is located before the forepump in a vacuum system. The trap utilizes a cracker, which may be a heated filament or a plasma, and cold walls. The cracker cracks pnictide gas species such as P.sub.4 into other species such as P.sub.2 which have a higher sticking co-efficient. The pnictides are deposited on the cold walls. The cold walls preferably comprise a sleeve which may be removed from the trap and replaced by a clean one.
