摘要: A storage container system comprising an arrangement for adjustable ventilation intended for storing at least one article that is thermally sensitive and/or requires ventilation to the ambient atmosphere. The device includes at least one door and at least one aperture ventilation assembly. The aperture ventilation assembly includes a planar wall aperture array and a corresponding planar shutter aperture array, wherein the sliding relationship between the two arrays results in a plurality of ventilation levels, including a fully open state, and a closed state capable of substantially sealing off the contents of the container from the ambient atmosphere. Certain preferred embodiments include a plurality of storage compartments configured within the container's inner volume wherein each compartment is sealed from one another and possesses its own aperture ventilation assembly for ventilation adjustments.

摘要: A method and apparatus for welding together two silicon workpieces (20, 22) without the formation of cracks along the weld. In a first embodiment, current (34, 36) is passed through one or both of the workpieces to heat them to between 600 and 900° C. Then an electric, laser, or plasma welder (38, 40) passes along the seam (24) between the workpieces to weld them together. In a second embodiment, current (34) is passed through a plate (60), preferably formed of silicon, which either supports the workpieces or is brought into contact with at least one of them, whereby the workpieces are preheated prior to the welding operation.

摘要: The system makes use of an interferometric Bragg cell for the time delays needed by the multiple antenna inputs in an angle-of-arrival (AOA) measurement system, for accurate measurements over wide bandwidths. A signal Bragg cell is modulated with a selected band of the EW signal environment, using a separate transducer coupled to each quadrant antenna element. A reference Bragg cell is modulated with a chirp signal. Coherent light from a laser is split and directed to both the signal cell and the reference cell. The output light beams from the reference Bragg cell and signal Bragg cell are combined and focused onto photo detectors having a one-dimensional array for each quadrant antenna element. The reference and signals are heterodyned at the photo detectors, which results in a channelized spectral output with each channel at the same intermediate frequency (IF). The outputs of the photodetectors are used by a phase comparison unit, cued by a frequency measurement receiver to the correct detectors, to provide the AOA measurement.

摘要: This disclosure relates to a programmable unit employing plural levels of sub-instruction sets in addition to conventional instruction sets. The conventional level of instruction sets is employed to specify computational routines and other processing algorithms to be carried out by the unit. Each instruction in a conventional set is implemented in the unit by a sequence of first level sub-instructions which specify the various operations to be carried out within the unit which operations are comprised within the specific routine. In turn, the various first level sub-instructions are implemented by second level sub-instructions which specify the various control signals required to set the various gates as required for the particular unit operation to be carried out. With this hierarchy of sub-instruction sets, first level sub-instruction sets may be interchanged dynamically during the operation of the unit to dynamically change the processing capability of the unit. This eliminates the requirement for any special logic circuitry to accommodate particular computational routines and allows the arithmetic logic unit to be designed as multiples of the basic logic unit in accordance with particular desired data path widths. A manner is disclosed by which the interchanging of first level sub-instruction sets provides for placing the unit in different control modes such as input-output control or processing control. A manner is also disclosed by which interchanging of different first level sub-instruction sets accommodates the execution of programs written in different program language forms.
