摘要: The disclosure provides two integrated methods for the production of potable water from seawater or other brackish waters using chemical forced precipitation. The process is closed loop. It recycles process reactants and produces commercially valuable potable water and salts. The technology uses a computer software method of process variable control that maintains the chemical forced precipitation process salt, solvent, and water concentrations as required to optimize water production. The process fortuitously requires less energy than other water production processes and can utilize solar hot water heating or waste heat from other combustion and seawater for heating and cooling energy sources.

摘要: A standing straw device for use with a glass. The standing straw device comprises a straw component, a sidewall component, and a circular base component. The sidewall component is shaped to substantially conform to and releasably adhere to an interior sidewall of the glass when the glass is filled with liquid. The straw component is integrated into the sidewall component so that it does not move when the sidewall component is in place within the glass. The circular base component extends from a bottom of the sidewall component and is configured to press against a bottom of the glass to further keep the standing straw device in place.

摘要: The disclosure provides seven integrated methods for the chemical sequestration of carbon dioxide (CO2), nitric oxide (NO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2) (collectively NOx, where x=1, 2) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) using closed loop technology. The methods recycle process reagents and mass balance consumable reagents that can be made using electrochemical separation of sodium chloride (NaCl) or potassium chloride (KCl). The technology applies to marine and terrestrial exhaust gas sources for CO2, NOx and SO2. The integrated technology combines compatible and green processes that capture and/or convert CO2, NOx and SO2 into compounds that enhance the environment, many with commercial value.

摘要: In one aspect, the present disclosure provides a processor-implemented method of determining a bias for an axis of a gyroscope. The method includes: obtaining a temperature reading; maintaining a plurality of bias estimators for the axis, each bias estimator associated with a temperature and configured to estimate a bias at the associated temperature, the plurality of bias estimators including a number of short term bias estimators for estimating biases for recently obtained temperatures and a number of long term bias estimators for estimating biases for temperatures obtained over a comparatively longer period of time; and determining a bias for the axis of the gyroscope based on the temperature reading and one or more of the bias estimators.

摘要: A non-volatile memory system includes a memory section having a non-volatile cache portion storing data in a binary format, a primary user data storage section that stores user data in multi-state format, and an update memory area where the memory system stores data updating user data previously stored in the primary user data. The memory system allows a maximum number of blocks for use in the update memory area. When the memory system receives updated data corresponding to user data already written into the primary user data storage section, it determines whether a block of memory is available in the update memory area. In response to determining that a block of memory is not available in the update memory area, the system determines a block of the update memory to remove from the update memory; copies the data content of the determined update block into the cache portion of the memory section; and subsequently writes the updated data into the update memory.

摘要: A method, computing device and computer readable memory for cooperative localization of a portable electronic device is provided. Location identification messages are received each providing a known location of a respective portable electronic device and an associated transmitter identification (ID) of the respective portable electronic device and stored. Location request messages providing one or more transmitter IDs in communication range with a query portable electronic device and a transmitter ID of the query portable electronic device are received and location information from the stored location information associated with the one or more transmitter IDs received in the location request message is retrieved. A location of the query portable electronic device is estimated based on the retrieved location information and stored with the associated transmitter ID of the query portable electronic device.
