摘要: A stabilising arrangement to support an object (1) (such as a table) above four ground engaging means (5c-8c) (such as feet) includes an interconnection means (4) interconnecting at least three lever parts (e.g. four table legs (5-8) or beam portions (5a-8a) each connected to the interconnection means by a respective pivot (9) having a respective pivot axis (5h-8h). Each ground engaging means can be attached to or integral with one of the three lever parts where at least one of the ground engaging means is connected to the first lever part and at least one ground engaging means is connected to the third lever part. The first pivot axis and the third pivot axis are at an angle of up to thirty degrees from parallel to each other and within thirty degrees of perpendicular to the second pivot axis. The second lever part has first and second engaging regions, the first engaging region located on the opposite side of the second pivot axis to the second engaging region in plan view. The first lever part includes a first engaging region to engage with the second engaging region of the second lever part. The third lever part includes a second engaging region to engage with the first engaging region of the second lever part. Rotation of the first lever part drives a rotation of the second lever part which drives rotation of the third lever part in a substantially opposite direction to the first lever part to give a warp displacement of the four ground engaging means. The stabilising arrangement provides support of the object on uneven ground. A support mechanism having at least four legs for supporting an object, and a table that adapts to uneven surfaces, are disclosed.

摘要: A suspension system for a vehicle having at least one pair of forward and one pair of rearward wheels, including: a suspension arm (7–10) for each wheel providing at least partial location of the associated wheel, the suspension arm (7–8) of the forward wheel being pivotally mounted to a vehicle body at a pivot position (11, 15, 12, 16) rearward to an axle line of the forward wheel, the suspension arm (9–10) of the rearward wheel being pivotally mounted to the vehicle body at a pivot position (13, 17; 14, 18) forward to an axle line of the rearward wheel; at least one lever arm (19–22) moving in conjunction with and extending radially from the pivot position (11–18) of each suspension arm (7–10); wherein at each respective side of the vehicle, a ram assembly (23, 24) is located between the lever arms (19–22) of the forward and rearward wheel, the ram assembly (23, 24) including at least a first (25, 27) and second (26, 28) variable volume fluid chamber, each fluid chamber (25–28) being in fluid communication with a fluid chamber (25–28) of an opposing ram assembly (23, 24) provided on the opposing side of the vehicle, such that there is fluid flow between the chambers (25–28) of the ram assemblies (23, 24) during heave motion of the vehicle, there is little to no fluid flow between the chambers (25–28) of the ram assemblies (23, 24) during roll motions, and there is an at least substantially longitudinal motion of the ram assemblies (23, 24) with little to no flow of fluid between the chambers (25–28) or the ram assemblies (23, 24) during cross axle articulations motion of the wheels.

摘要: A continuously variable reversible transmission including an input shaft (2), a housing (1), an input arm (4), first and second CVT shafts (5.6), a fixed input wheel (35), a ratio selector mechanism, an overall output wheel (36) and an output shaft (24). The input arm (4) is fixed to the input shaft (2) and extends substantially perpendicular to the input shaft. At each end of the input arm, a first (5) and second (6) CVT shaft is rotatably mounted, with the axes of the CVT shafts extending parallel to the input shaft. The fixed input wheel (35) may be aligned with the axis of the input shaft. The first CVT shaft (5) is coupled with the fixed input wheel (35), the second CVT shaft (6) is coupled with the first CVT shaft (5) and the output wheel (36) which is fixed to the output shaft (24) is coupled with the second CVT shaft. The first and second CVT shafts may orbit around the axis of the input shaft, such that changing the ratio of at least one of the couplings produces a variation of the speed of the output shaft from forwards, through zero to reverse.

摘要: A support mechanism for supporting an object, such as a table, has at least four legs and an interconnection means connecting the legs. Each leg has a beam portion with an inner end and an outer end. The beam portion of each leg is connected to the interconnection means by a respective pivot having a pivot axis located between the inner and outer ends of the beam portion. Each respective pair of adjacent legs has a protrusion fixed to one of the legs of that pair of adjacent legs and extending from that one leg to act on the other leg of that pair of adjacent legs. In use, the outer end of the beam portion of one leg moves in an upwards direction and the outer end of the beam portions of the adjacent legs moves in a downwards direction to accommodate uneven ground surfaces.

摘要: A hydraulic system for a vehicle suspension for a vehicle, the vehicle including a vehicle body and at least two forward and two rearward wheel assemblies, the vehicle suspension including front and rear resilient vehicle support means between the vehicle body and the wheel assemblies for resiliently supporting the vehicle above the wheel assemblies, the hydraulic system including: at least two front (11, 12) and two rear (13, 14) wheel rams respectively located between the wheel assemblies and the vehicle body, each ram (11 to 14) including at least a compression chamber (45 to 48) and a rebound chamber (49 to 52); wherein the compression chamber (45, 46) and rebound chamber (49, 50) of each said front wheel ram (11, 12) is in fluid communication with the rebound chamber (47, 48) and compression chamber (51, 52) respectively of a diagonally opposed said rear wheel ram (13, 14) to respectively provide two fluid circuits, each fluid circuit providing a front and back compression volume therein, the front compression volume of each said fluid circuit being in fluid communication with the back compression volume of the other said fluid conduit, and wherein damping means (53 to 56, 71, 72) are provided for damping fluid flow within each compression volume and between the front and back compression volumes such that suspension parameters provided by the hydraulic system, including roll stiffness, roll damping, pitch damping and heave damping, can be independently tuned from each other.

摘要: A load distribution unit is utilized in a vehicle suspension system having at least one pair of laterally adjacent forward wheel assemblies, and at least one pair of laterally adjacent rear wheel assemblies. A wheel ram is associated with each of the wheel assemblies, each wheel ram including a major chamber therein. The load distribution unit includes a plurality of fluid chambers, each fluid chamber being divided into at least two control chambers by at least one piston supported therein. Two pairs of the control chambers which vary in volume proportionally and in opposite senses therein with piston motion are system chambers, and at least two of the remaining control chambers are bump chambers. The pistons are interconnected by at least one connection device. The major chamber of each wheel ram is in fluid communication with a respective system chamber. The vehicle suspension system provides a roll stiffness and a pitch stiffness while providing minimum cross-axial articulation stiffness.

摘要: A support mechanism for supporting an object, such as a table, has at least four legs (5-8) and an interconnection means (4) connecting the legs. Each leg has at least a beam portion (5a-8a) with an inner (proximal) end and an outer (distal) end. The beam portion of each leg is connected to the interconnection means by a respective pivot (9) having a pivot axis. The pivot is located between the inner and outer ends of the beam portion. Each respective pair of adjacent legs has a protrusion (or lever or balance portion) (11-14), each fixed to one leg of said pair of adjacent legs and extending from that one leg to act on the other leg of said pair of adjacent legs whereby a support reaction force is transmitted between the pair of adjacent legs at a point on the other leg between the pivot and the outer end of the beam portion of that other leg. Said point is on the opposite side of the pivot axis of the one leg to the outer end of the beam portion of that one leg. In use, the outer end of the beam portion of one leg moves in an upwards direction and the outer end of the beam portion of the other leg of the adjacent pair of legs moves in a downwards direction. Feet (10) can be replaced, or the beam portions (5a-8a) can be extended, by downwards extending portions (5b,6b,7b and 8b) connected to the outer ends of the beam portion of each leg.
