    摘要: A system for disaggregating a gross energy measurement into individual component energy consumption. A collection of components may be situated in a facility. A sensor may obtain electrical signals from one or more power input lines which convey power to the facility for the components. The signals may indicate the total energy consumption by the collection of components. Approaches and/or mechanisms may be used to disaggregate the indication of total energy consumption into indications of individual energy consumption by the components without the need for separately determining the individual energy consumption with additional measurements or instrumentation. Also, approaches and/or mechanisms may be used for integrating a known load activity with whole facility energy consumption for enhancing the component disaggregation. Indications of individual energy consumption permit a reasonable evaluation of components from efficiency, conservation and/or other perspectives.

    摘要: The present inventors devised, among other things, systems and methods for estimating the energy usage of individual appliances based on cumulative household energy usage data and energy consumption profiles of the appliances. One exemplary system receives cumulative or aggregate energy usage for a building or other structure including a set of two or more appliances having different load ratings. Based on the aggregate energy usage and predefined usage profiles for the appliances, the exemplary system estimates individual energy usage of the appliances. In one embodiment, the system estimates individual energy usage of the appliances using a Bayesian estimator and displays the usage estimates, referred to as virtual submeter readings, on a graphical user interface.

    摘要: A context-aware smart home energy management (CASHEM) system and method is disclosed. CASHEM dynamically schedules household energy use to reduce energy consumption by identifying contextual information within said household, selecting a comfort of service preference, wherein said comfort of service preference is based on different said contextual information, and extracting an appliance use schedule for maximum energy savings based on said contextual information in light of said comfort of service preferences, by executing a program instruction in a data processing apparatus. CASHEM correlates said contextual information with energy consumption levels to dynamically schedule said appliance based on an energy-saving condition and a user's comfort. Comfort of service preferences are gathered by CASHEM by monitoring occupant activity levels and use of said appliance. CASHEM can also recommend potential energy savings for a user to modify comfort of service preferences.
