In an internal combustion engine provided with a rotary intake control valve, preferable position convergence at the end of inertia supercharging is ensured while avoiding an influence on combustion performance. In an engine provided with an impulse valve, if the implementation of the inertia supercharging is stopped and a request to maintain the impulse valve at a fully-opened position is made, an ECU stops the supply of a braking force to the impulse valve until the rotational phase of the impulse valve enters dead band, and the ECU performs a BRK mode for stopping the impulse valve under the condition that the rotational phase enters the dead band and that the impulse valve is in a deceleration state. At this time, electrification or power distribution for acceleration of the impulse valve during stop control of the impulse valve is forbidden. Moreover, the converging position of the impulse valve by the BRK mode is allowed to deviate in a range with an allowable width set in advance with respect to a target.

The air flow inhaled into the internal combustion engine is calculated based on the operation state of the electric motor, the operational state of the bypass valve and the signal of the intake air flow sensor. Immediately after the bypass valve is opened when the electric motor is running, the air flow inhaled into the internal combustion engine may be calculated by acquiring the bypass air flow through the bypass passage and using the acquired bypass air flow to correct the intake air flow measured from the signal of the intake air flow sensor. Based on the calculated air flow inhaled into the internal combustion engine, control parameters which concern the output power of the internal combustion engine are adjusted.

The present invention discloses serum remnant-like lipoprotein concentration regulators containing triglyceride of medium-chain fatty acids, wherein 90% or more by weight of the fatty acids as components of the medium-chain triglyceride are saturated fatty acids having 8 and 10 carbon atoms; weight ratio between the saturated fatty acids having 8 carbon atoms and those having 10 carbon atoms is 60/40 to 85/15; and the proportion of the saturated fatty acids having 8 carbon atoms in all the fatty acids bonding to the second position of the triglyceride is 60 to 85 % by weight. The present invention also discloses foods for controlling the concentration of serum remnant-like lipoproteins and pharmaceutical compositions for controlling the concentration of serum remnant-like lipoproteins, which contain the serum remnant-like lipoprotein concentration regulator. The foods for controlling the concentration of serum remnant-like lipoproteins can be easily used without concerning about side effects and restrictive diet.

A reinforcement tape is stuck to an outer front surface of a fastener tape and a fastener element removed portion at a space portion, in which fastener elements are removed and to which the separable bottom end stop of the concealed type slide fastener, for example, a insert pin or the like is attached, by ultrasonic welding. The reinforcement tape may be, for example, a tape whose front surface is made of a thermoplastic elastomer film while its rear surface is made of hot melt adhesive agent. At the same time of the above sticking, an edge portion is formed into a U shape and its surface is reinforced and then, the insert pin or the like is attached to this portion. The fastener tape itself does not come into contact with a diamond of a slider, even if outer face of the U-shaped edge portion comes into sliding contact with the diamond, so the fastener tape is protected from being worn or damaged.

In a trousers-fly-serging apparatus, a fly is fed on and along a feed table by a retaining portion of a linear supply section, and pressing levers attached to lower portions of four corners of a support body move down to press and retain the fed fly with tip ends of the pressing levers. Then, a rod actuated by a pressure cylinder is towed to rotate a rear portion of the support body about a pin as a pivot provided at a front end portion of the support body, so that one corner portion of a leading end portion of the fly is trimmed into an arcuate shape by a cutter and at the same time, the arcuately trimmed edge portion is serged by a needle. According to the apparatus, therefore, the one corner portion of the leading end of the fly can be trimmed into a uniform arcuate shape.

In a color liquid crystal type electronic instrument panel, the quantity of light to be radiated from a background light source is changed in accordance with a color to be displayed. The color liquid crystal type electronic instrument panel is of the type that a plurality of plural-primary-color stripe filters are disposed on each segment of a display element in the longitudinal direction of the segment; a voltage is applied to electrodes corresponding to the stripe filters having a color selected based on the contents to be displayed, and the background light source is positioned at the back of the display element to enable color-displaying. A device for detecting the brightness of outdoor light is further provided in the liquid crystal display type electronic instrument panel, wherein the quantity of light to be radiated from the background light source is changed in accordance with a detected signal by the detecting device.
