Abstract:
Devices and methods are provided for reducing client node power consumption when monitoring first and second channels corresponding to first and second access nodes in a heterogeneous wireless-enabled communications environment. Enhanced Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (eICIC) operations are performed to mitigate interference between a first access node and a second access node. The client node monitors first and second channels corresponding to the first and second access nodes to detect the presence of Almost Blank Subframes (ABS) pattern data transmitted on the first channel. When detected, the client node ceases monitoring the first channel to reduce power consumption and thereby conserve battery resources.
Abstract:
A method for discontinuous reception operation for carrier aggregation comprising: receiving a first set of discontinuous reception parameters for a first carrier and a different set of discontinuous reception parameters for a second carrier; and configuring discontinuous reception parameters on the first carrier and second carrier.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for use with wireless networks having one or more cell in which each cell includes a base station (BS), at least one relay station (RS) and at least one mobile station (MS). The at least one relay station can be used as an intermediate station for providing communication between the BS and MS. Methods are provided for an RS to initially access the network, access of the RS by MSs initially accessing the network, methods of allocating OFDM resources for communicating between the BS, RS and/or MS for example dividing transmission resources into uplink and downlink transmissions, and methods of inserting pilot symbols into transmission resources used by the RS. In some embodiments on the invention, the methods are consistent and/or can be used in conjunction with existing standards such as 802.16e.
Abstract:
A method and system for wireless communication in which a plurality of media access control (“MAC”) packet data units (“PDUs”) corresponding to a plurality of wireless communication connections are received. The plurality of MAC PDUs is grouped into a relay packet and the relay packet is transmitted. Such grouping and transmission of the relay packet is performed by one or more relay nodes. The traffic control for the transmission can also be based on centralized or decentralized routing control and/or centralized or decentralized QoS control.
Abstract:
Technology for a user equipment (UE) to communicate in a multiple radio access technology (multi-RAT) heterogeneous network (HetNet) is described. A radio-link-selection hysteresis threshold can be determined at the UE for a radio link between the UE and a node in the multi-RAT HetNet. A reliability value of a throughput estimate can be measured for the radio link in the multi-RAT HetNet. The radio-link-selection hysteresis threshold can be adjusted at the UE based on the reliability value to increase network stability in the multi-RAT HetNet.
Abstract:
A method for providing user agent data. The method includes an access node receiving an indicator sent from a relay node as an indication that the relay node has received data from the user agent.
Abstract:
Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE) to support inter-frequency handover are disclosed herein. The UE may receive, from an Evolved Node-B (eNB), a measurement report configuration message that includes multiple measurement events to be determined at the UE. The UE may transmit a measurement report when a combined measurement event occurs. The combined measurement event may include a combination of the multiple measurement events according to a “logical AND” operator such that the combined measurement event occurs when the multiple measurement events occur. The measurement events may be related to signal measurements performed on one or more signals received at the UE from one or more cells configured for operation in the network.
Abstract:
A method is provided for managing a priority call in a serving cell. The method comprises, when a priority call is in progress in the serving cell, an access device in the serving cell determining an amount of resources available in the serving cell. The method further comprises when the amount of resources available in the serving cell is below a threshold, the access device causing at least one non-priority call in the serving cell to be handed over to a target cell.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for allocating resources including VoIP (voice over Internet Protocol) and Non-VoIP resources. In some embodiments, multiplexing schemes are provided for use with OFDMA (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing access) systems, for example for use in transmitting VoIP traffic. In some embodiments, various HARQ (Hybrid Automatic request) techniques are provided for use with OFDMA systems. In various embodiments, there are provided methods and systems for dealing with issues such as Handling non-full rate vocoder frames, VoIP packet jitter handling, VoIP capacity increasing schemes, persistent and non-persistent assignment of resources in OFDMA systems.
