摘要： A finger actuated pump dispenser employs a first upper hollow vertical cylinder with a first diameter and open upper and lower ends and a second lower hollow vertical cylinder with a second and smaller diameter and a closed lower end with a central opening. The lower end of the first cylinder is joined to an open upper end of the second cylinder. The inner wall of the second cylinder has a horizontal annular recess. A first vertical hollow piston has openings in top and bottom ends and extendings slidably above and within first cylinder. The first piston has an enlargement intermediate its ends peripherally engaging and defining a first unbroken seal with the inner surface of the first cylinder. A second vertical piston has a central vertical bore extending therethrough and is disposed slidably within the second cylinder. The second piston peripherally engages and defines a second seal with the inner surface of the second cylinder. The second seal is unbroken except when the second piston is aligned with and spaced from the annular recess. A vertical stem is disposed slidably within the first piston with an outwardly extending central horizontal flange secured thereto intermediate its ends. The bottom opening of the first piston engages and defines a third seal with the flange. The third seal is broken when the bottom opening of the first piston is separated from the flange. A portion of the stem below the flange extends vertically and slidably downwards through the central bore of the second piston. The portion engages and defines a fourth unbroken seal with said bore. A spring extends within the second cylinder between its lower end and the lower end of the second piston.

摘要： A finger actuated pump dispenser employs a first upper hollow vertical cylinder with a first diameter and open upper and lower ends and a second lower hollow vertical cylinder with a second and smaller diameter and a closed lower end with a central opening. The lower end of the first cylinder is joined to an open upper end of the second cylinder. The inner wall of the second cylinder has a horizontal annular recess. A first vertical hollow piston has openings in top and bottom ends and extends slidably above and within the cylinders. The first piston has an enlargement intermediate upper and lower ends peripherally engaging and defining a first unbroken seal with the inner surface of the first cylinder. The first piston has a lower section extending downward from the enlargement to its lower end, the lower section having an outer diameter slightly less than the diameter of the second cylinder. A second vertical piston peripherally engages and defines a second seal with the inner surface of the second cylinder. The second seal is unbroken except when the second piston is aligned with and spaced from the annular recess. A vertical stem is disposed slidably within the first piston and is secured at its lower end to the upper end of the said second piston. The stem is longer than the first piston so that there is always a vertical separation between the lower end of the first piston and the lower end of the stem. A spring extends within the second cylinder between its lower end and the lower end of the second piston.

摘要： The lower end of a first hollow vertical cylinder curves inwardly to merge with the upper end of a lower second cylinder. A hollow vertical piston extends through a top opening of the first cylinder into the first cylinder and is vertically movable therein with a lower end of the piston slidably engaging the inner surface of the first cylinder. A vertical member has upper and lower integral sections, the lower section being enlarged with respect to the upper portion, the upper section being engagable or disengagable with the upper end of the piston to define a first closed or open port therewith. A third vertical hollow cylinder has a lower end in continuous fluid sealing engagement with the inner surface of the second cylinder. An upper end of the third cylinder is engagable or disengagable with the lower section to define a second closed or open port therewith. The first port is open when the second port is closed and vice versa. A spring bears against a lower end of the second cylinder and extends upwardly within the third cylinder to engage the lower section and also to engage the upper end of the third cylinder when the lower section is separated from the third cylinder. The spring has fully extended and fully compressed positions.

According to one exemplary method, a cartridge is coupled to a liquid dispenser and includes a substance which is in a dry state. A liquid is dispensed from the dispenser into the cartridge so that the substance may be dissolved into the dispensed liquid to form a solution. The solution is then transferred from the cartridge and onto an atomization member which is operated to aerosolize the solution.

摘要： Disclosed is the development of a miniaturized flashlight which includes a top, and bottom, each of which is snap-fittingly secured to the other and joined by a further element, a flexible tubular housing member. The tubular member is desirably of an elliptical cross-section, but can be rectangular and multi-sided. The top and bottom are proportionally adapted to accept the cross-section of the tubular housing. A battery bridge is provided at the bottom of the bottom portion along with upstanding battery separators to thereby physically separate two batteries while electrically puting them in partial series contact. The top is adapted to fit over and ride upon the tubular member. The top has a separate electronic bridge at its upper portion for permanently engaging one battery, and leaf spring for selectively electrically engaging the adjacent bulb base above the other battery to thereby activate the circuit to illuminate the light bulb located in the top. The method addresses itself to providing a plurality of bottoms, tops, tubular members, batteries, light bulbs, and billboards all of which can be assembled by first inserting the batteries and then positioning the paper billboard interiorly of the tubular member. Thereafter the top is secured to the bottom. The top secures the contact switch in place so that it permanently contacts one battery adjacent the point where secured, and the leaf springs of the contact switch are yieldably engageable with the lower portion of the light bulb.

摘要： A vertical hollow cylinder has a recess adjacent an upper end and a lower end constituting a throat. A vertical hollow outer piston is slidable in the cylinder with upper section extending above the cylinder and a lower section disposed within the cylinder. The lower section has first and second vertically spaced horizontal extensions disposed in slidable sealing engagement with the cylinder wall and has a third extension in slidable sealing engagement with the throat. The outer piston also has first and second vertically spaced channels extending from the second inner wall into the interior of the cylinder which are disposed respectively above the first extension and below the second extension. A lower variable volume is defined by a portion of the cylinder wall subtended between the second and third extensions and communicates with the second channel. A member is disposed within the recess, in sealing engagement with the upper section of the outer piston and cylinder wall. An upper variable volume is defined by another portion of the cylinder wall subtended between the member and the first extension and communicates with the first channel. A hollow vertical actuator is slidable in the outer piston and defines a discharge channel. A vertical hollow inner piston engages the interior of the actuator and has between its ends upper and lower vertically spaced skirts in slidable sealing engagement with the wall of the outer piston. The inner piston has a third channel which extends to the discharge orifice. second channel communicates only with the third channel.

摘要： Upper and lower hollow cylinders communicate with each other. The diameter of the upper cylinder is larger than that of the lower cylinder. The lower cylinder has an opening through which fluid to be dispensed can be introduced. A piston has an upper vertical hollow cylindrical section open at opposite ends with a first extension in peripheral sealing engagement with the inner surface of the upper cylinder and a lower extension in peripheral sealing engagement with the inner surface of the lower cylinder. An aperture is located in the second extension between its ends. A vertical stem is slidable within and extends through the upper section of the piston. The stem has an enlargement spaced below its upper end. A vertical discharge conduit is coaxial with the piston and stem. An actuator is disposed above the upper cylinder, being secured to the upper end of the stem and having a horizontal discharge channel which communicates with the discharge conduit. The actuator slidably receives the upper end of the upper section of the piston in a region defining a gap. The stem is biased by a spring to close the discharge conduit and to position the enlargement above the aperture when the dispenser is in rest position. The spring is disposed outside the cylinders to exert an upwardly directed biasing force against the actuator and against the upper end of the stem. The piston and actuator can be interconnected in such manner that the dispenser can be placed in locked down position without actuation. This interconnection can be used regardless of the placement of the spring outside or inside the cylinders.
