Abstract: A method of communicating between a terminal device and a back-end system assigned to the terminal device, the terminal device receives via a direct wireless communication link an authorization code from the mobile communication device. Responsive to receiving the authorization code, the terminal device transmits via the direct wireless communication link to the mobile communication device a terminal report message which includes a message content part and a message addressing part. The mobile communication device transmits the terminal report message in a forwarding message via a telecommunications network to a remote message processing system determined by the addressing part. The remote message processing system determines from the addressing part the back-end system assigned to the electronic terminal device and transfers the content part of the terminal report message to the back-end system.

Abstract: For verifying authorization associated with a first electronic device by a second electronic device, using symmetric key encryption, the second electronic device receives from the first electronic device encrypted data and metadata with a key space identifier and positional information. The key space identifier defines a cryptographic key hierarchy and the positional information defines in the cryptographic key hierarchy the cryptographic key used to generate the encrypted data. The second electronic device derives the cryptographic key by way of a one-way function from cryptographic keys stored in the second electronic device, using the key space identifier and the positional information received from the first electronic device. The second electronic device decrypts the encrypted data, using the derived cryptographic key, for verifying the authorization associated with the first electronic device.

Abstract: An electronic access control device (1) includes a radio communication module (11) for wireless data exchange in a first radio frequency band with a mobile device (2) over a direct wireless communication link (3). The access control device has a controller (12) connected to the wireless radio communication module for generating an access control signal using an access key received from the mobile device. The electronic access control device further includes a proximity detector (13) for detecting a mobile device in defined proximity (P), using a radio frequency in a second radio frequency band, different from the first radio frequency band. The controller is connected to the proximity detector and controls the radio communication module to establish the direct wireless communication link with the mobile device, only if the mobile device is detected in defined proximity of the electronic access control device.
