    摘要: In a display panel and a method of manufacturing the same, the display panel includes a first display substrate, a second display substrate and a sealing member. The first display substrate includes a first alignment layer in a first display region and a first peripheral region of a first base substrate, and a first backflow-blocking pattern in the first peripheral region and having a curvature to surround a vertex portion of the first display region. The second display substrate includes a second alignment layer in a second display region which faces the first display region and a second peripheral region of a second base substrate. The sealing member includes a corner portion having substantially the same curvature as the first backflow-blocking pattern to surround an outline of the first and second peripheral regions.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display (LCD) and a method for repairing a defective pixel in the LCD is provided, where a width of a sustain electrode line is reduced or no sustain electrode line is provided for the purpose of ensuring an increased aperture ratio. The LCD includes a gate line, extending in a first direction, and a data wiring being insulated from the gate line. The data wiring includes a source electrode, a drain electrode, and a data line extending in a second direction. A pixel electrode is connected to the drain electrode via a contact hole, and a sustain electrode line is formed in a substantially the same plane as the gate line and has a sustain electrode overlapped by the contact hole.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for manufacturing a polarizer for use in a large-sized liquid crystal display (LCD) with a size of 60 inches or more includes controlling the degree of stretching of a PVA film to have a width corresponding to a length of a long side of an LCD panel, cutting the stretched PVA film to fabricate PVA sheets, and attaching TAC films and protection films to each of the PVA sheets. Since the PVA film is fabricated into the PVA sheets, it is possible to fabricate a polarizer without changing the widths of the TAC films and protection films. Therefore, costs can be reduced that are associated with facility investment for manufacturing polarizers for LCDs having a size of 60 inches or more.

The color filter layer has a first thickness at the first region and a second thickness that is smaller than the first thickness at the second region. The first cell gap maintaining member is disposed at the first region. The second cell gap maintaining member is disposed at the second region. Therefore, a height difference between the main column spacer and the sub column spacer may be easily adjusted.
