摘要： A personal computerized dictionary to which not only positive but also negative versions of words can be added by the user to customize the spelling check module to a specific application. In a preferred embodiment, such a dictionary is incorporated in a spelling check module for use in conjunction with an electronic typewriter or personal computer of the type which has a keyboard and a data processor interconnected by a respective keyboard connector and a data processor connector. The spelling check module includes male and female connectors which are arranged to receive the keyboard connector and data processor connectors. The spelling check module is installed by disconnecting the keyboard connector from the data processor connector and interposing the spelling check module therebetween by connecting the keyboard connector and the data processor connector to the respective connectors of the spelling check module. The spelling check module is controlled by selected non-printing, non-control keys.

摘要： A dispenser for thin flat rigid articles such as glass cover slips for microscope slides comprises a magazine for a stack of such articles and a dispensing block carrying the magazine and reciprocable relative to a spring blade running in a groove in the top of the block and under the magazine. The depth of the grooves changes so that the front of the blade rises as it travels in the groove, under the magazine, from a projection less than the thickness of article to a projection greater than that thickness, so as to engage and push only the lowermost article under a resilient barrier that restrains other articles in the stack.Also disclosed is an automatic microscope slide coverslipping machine incorporating the dispenser.

摘要： A circuit and method for page addressing computer read-only memory (ROM) includes expanded ROM (12 and 13) and an address signal generator (20). Address signal generator (20) includes address line generator (21) for providing sufficient additional binary lines to expanded ROM (12 and 13) for addressing the entire expanded ROM memory space and a decoder circuit (22) for detecting the presence of prechosen addresses on the computer system address bus. The prechosen addresses permit selection of page increments in expanded ROM memory space for addressing over the more limited system address bus received by the original ROM.

摘要： A recording or plotting apparatus has a writing device which comprises a pen holder carrying a plurality of pens. A penholder assembly is movable from end to end of a gantry which is itself movable across a record surface such as a record sheet or card along an axis perpendicular to the axis of movement of the pen holder. Thus, for example, the gantry can move in an X-axis and the penholder can move in a Y-axis. The pen holder is provided with a plurality of writing tips supported in a rotatable turret. The turret is rotated by rotation of a ratchet provided with a plurality of ratchet teeth. The ratchet and therefore the turret is rotated when, in response to movement of the gantry or pen holder, a pawl is engaged with one of the ratchet teeth. When the gantry or pen holder is moved to disengage the pawl from the ratchet tooth the ratchet, and therefore the turret, is rotated, for example, by a defined angle of about 60.degree., to place a desired one of the pen tips in contact with the record surfaces.
