摘要: Disclosed are heaters having at least one adjustable fired burner and an adjustable fired burner for use with various types of heaters. The heaters may be part of an industrial processes such as petroleum refining. The adjustable burners are configured to be adjusted and positioned in any direction and then be locked into place. The adjustable burners may be adjusted automatically or manually. The ability to quickly adjust the position of an adjustable burner results in substantially less or virtually no damage to elements in the heater and provides for a more even distribution of heat within the heater.

摘要: An evacuated envelope having a plurality of spaced, parallel support walls extending between and substantially perpendicular to flat substantially parallel front and back walls to provide a plurality of parallel channels extending along the front and back walls. The front and back walls and the support walls are of an electrically insulating material, typically glass. Compressed between each of the support walls and the front wall is a metal strip which serves as the tip of the support wall and which extends along the entire length of the support wall. Each tip is tapered in thickness from a thickness substantially equal to the thickness of the support wall at the support wall to a thinner thickness at the front wall. Means is provided between each metal tip and either the support wall or the front wall to prevent movement of the tip transversely of the channels. A shadow mask extends across each of the channels and extends between the metal tips and the support walls. The shadow mask is held in proper position with respect to the phosphor screen on the inner surface of the front wall by the metal tips.

摘要: A disc record caddy comprises a pair of substantially flat circular covers releasably held in channels defined along the inside rim of an expandable circular ring. Spring elements bias the ring into a contracted shape to radially restrain a disc retained between the pair of covers. A platform, mounted on a base of a disc record player system, horizontally supports the caddy in an elevated position over a turntable of the system and includes means for expanding the ring to release the covers. A turntable spindle incorporates a lowering/lifting mechanism which lowers the cover nearest the turntable and the disc supported thereon onto the turntable for record playback purposes, the other cover being retained at the platform level by the radially inward extension of the land defined between the ring channels. At the termination of record playback, the disc and the supporting cover are lifted up to platform level and the ring is allowed to return to the contracted shape thereby enclosing the disc between the two covers. The expanding means and the lowering/lifting mechanism are actuated in response to the movement of a player lid.

摘要: A multiple-stage catalytic conversion system in which a hydrocarbonaceous charge stock and hydrogen flow serially through a plurality of catalytic reaction zones in each of which the catalyst particles are downwardly movable via gravity-flow. The flow of the product effluent from at least one reaction zone is restricted, as is the flow of the hydrogen-rich vaporous phase separated from the effluent from the last reaction zone and recycled to the first reaction zone. This technique increases the density of the reaction zone feed and the pressure drop within the entire reactor circuit, and thus serves to alleviate the problems associated with the occurrence of stagnant catalyst areas as a result of catalyst particles being "pinned" within the reaction zone and thus unable to assume a downward, gravity-flow pattern. Flow restriction may be effected either before, or after the inter-reaction zone heaters, preferably the former.

摘要: A multiple-stage catalytic conversion system in which a hydrocarbonaceous charge stock and hydrogen flow serially through a plurality of catalytic reaction zones, in each of which the catalyst particles are downwardly movable via gravity-flow. At least three reaction zones are utilized, with the fresh feed and hydrogen reactant stream being split between the first and second. The flow of that portion introduced into the second zone is restricted. Effluent flow from the first reaction zone is also restricted and combined with the effluent from the second reaction zone; the mixture is introduced into a third reaction zone. Where the catalytic conversion system consists of four reaction zones, the flow of effluent from the third is restricted prior to the introduction thereof into the fourth reaction zone. This technique decreases the mass flow to the first two zones and increases the pressure drop experienced within the entire conversion system, thus serving to alleviate the problems associated with the occurrence of stagnant catalyst areas as a result of catalyst particles being "pinned" within the reaction zone and thus unable to assume a downward, gravity-flow pattern. Restriction of the second zone feed and first reaction zone effluent insures a higher pressure in the first zone.
