A clearance is provided about a periphery between the outer peripheral face of the wire seal part and the housing seal part. Even if the material of the wire seal part is deformed during the insertion operation of the electric wires, the insertion operation of the electric wires can be smoothly carried out to the last wire because the clearance absorbs the deformation of the entire wire seal part.

The male contact has a mating section capable of being formed compactly using a plate member having a plate thickness satisfying a desired strength requirement. The male contact 1 has a mating section 10 formed in such a manner that two plate members 11 and 12, which individually extend from a base 20, are superimposed on one another by folding on the base 20. The mating section 10 has flat sections 15 extending in a mating direction P, wherein outer surfaces of the two plate members 11-1 and 12-1 are formed flat. A tip 13 of one of the two plate members 12 is folded to overlap a tip 14 of the other plate member 11. This feature makes it hard to open the plate members 11 and 12 when the male contact is mated with the female contact.

A terminal cap (10) is provided to prevent erroneous use of a booster cable to connect batteries that have different specifications. The terminal cap (10) is mounted to cover a battery terminal (T) to be connected with one of electrodes of a 32V-battery. The terminal cap (10) has protection walls (20) that extend from a first accommodating portion (11a) for accommodating a connecting portion (7) of the battery terminal (T). The protection walls (20) are formed to be higher than a threaded shaft (1) of the electrode. Thus, even if an attempt is made to erroneously connect a booster cable, the protection walls (20) will interfere with the booster cable and prevent connection with the electrode located inside the protection walls (20).
