摘要: A corner connection used to secure I-beams together at corners within the excavation site is provided with a reinforcing assembly that allows for greater loads. Typically, four I-beams are connected together to form a rectangular frame that is suspended within the excavation for bracing the shoring walls thereof, however, any polygonal shape may be used. The corner connection itself comprises mating socket or connecting members that are placed over the ends of I-beams to be fastened together. One of the connecting members includes an outwardly extended tab while the other includes a pair of outwardly extended tabs. The first outwardly extending tab fits between the two extending tabs of the corresponding connecting member. All of the tabs are provided with apertures that are placed in alignment when the connection is made so that a bolt or pin can be passed through the apertures to secure the two connectors together. An additional set of tabs is provided on the connecting members that is also provide with apertures. A reinforcing assembly is provided and includes a reinforcing bar with tabs. A first spacer bar is attached to the reinforcing bar and one connecting member and a second spacer bar is attached to the reinforcing bar and an adjacent connecting member. The spacer bars, the reinforcing bar and the connection members are all connected with tab/pin connections. Advantageously the reinforcing assembly can use the existing second set of tabs located on the prior art connectors. Such an arrangement provides much greater support for the sidewalls of the excavation site.

摘要: Embodiments described herein include systems and methods for providing a social interface for sharing media experience information between households in a community. Users of different households may form the community. The social interface may be provided as an application on a mobile device or an Internet webpage as a portal to the community. The social interface may display a list of households, and a user of the interface may select a household from the list to view information on media being experienced within the household. The selected household may include separate groups of media players configured to render media in synchrony, and the social interface may display, upon selection of the household, a list of the separate groups included in the selected household. The user may then select a group from the list, among other actions, view information on media being rendered by the media players in the selected group.

摘要: The present invention is directed generally to recombinant methods for making a desired polypeptide. These method(s) yield a polypeptide product containing reduced levels of isoform impurities thereof. In particular, the present invention is directed to (1) a recombinant method for preparing growth hormone with reduced isoform impurities thereof and (2) a recombinant method for preparing a growth hormone antagonist, such as pegvisomant, and its protein intermediate, also having reduced isoform impurities thereof. More specifically, the isoform impurities that are decreased by methods of the present invention are the trisulfide and des-phe isoform impurities of growth hormone and growth hormone antagonist (or its intermediate), respectively.

摘要: A control system selectively operates an agitator within a main hopper or bulk tank for a product-on-demand delivery system. A differential pressure switch is used to control operation of the agitator. The differential pressure switch measures the pressure difference between the pressurized air pressure upstream of the tank and tank air pressure to determine when the system is not delivering adequate product to the application units, based on the high air flow rate in the system. When the sensor signals that the system is not delivering adequate product, the system automatically starts the agitator, and conversely when the sensor signals that the system is delivering adequate product, the system automatically stops the agitator.

摘要: A security bar providing improved security from breach is obtained with the use of a plurality of free rolling inner bars. Illustratively, three inner rolling bars, arranged in a triangular relationship, are provided inside a cylindrically hollowed out outer bar, thereby ensuring that no inner bar can be attacked simultaneously from opposing sides thereof. The inner bars may be surrounded with a ring of ball bearings to provide for their ability to roll freely in place with respect to the outer bar. Electronic monitoring of the security bar identifies attempts to breach the security bar.

摘要: A grand piano having a lower lid attached thereto by hinges, and a lid designed for attachment to the bottom of a grand piano. The lid completely covers the bottom of the piano case when latched in a closed position. In its closed position, the lower lid protects the soundboard from damage (such as during transportation of the piano) and mutes the piano's sound. The lower lid of the invention is designed so that, when released from its closed position and pivoted downward into an open position, it will reflect sound from the soundboard outward from the front of the piano. Preferably, the angular orientation of the lower lid in its open position is chosen to reinforce and focus the projection of sound within a desired frequency range (for example, midrange sounds) to a desired target region. Such optimal angular orientation can be determined experimentally. In one embodiment, the lower lid consists of two or more panels connected together by hinges, so that it can be detached from the piano and folded into a compact volume for convenient handling and storage. The dimensions of the lid and the positions of hinges which connect its panels are preferably predetermined so that lid has an optimal orientation for reinforcing projection of midrange sounds (or sounds within another desired frequency range) in a typically-sized room or concert hall when the lid is lowered to an open position in which it rests on the floor.
