摘要: An airborne substance detector includes an air intake that sweeps through a fixed area, and a fan that draws air toward a effluence detection device that analyzes the air for one or more substances, such as explosives. The air intake may be a series of tubes of a rotary gate, with multiple sets of tubes that rotate about a central axis. The fan or blower draws air through holes in the tubes, and through a manifold that directs air to the effluence detection device from a single set of tubes at a time. In addition the detector may include a heater that may enhance vaporization of substances to be detected. The effluence detection device, the manifold, and the fan may be located in an enclosure at the top of the rotary gate. After detection, a decontamination procedure may be initiated to purge the system of the substance that was detected.

摘要: Systems and methods for securing objects to vehicles are provided. In some embodiments, a system may include a first and a second standoff apparatus that may be configured to support an object. Each of the first standoff apparatus and second standoff apparatus may include a recoilable device and a connector for coupling the recoilable device to the object. The first standoff may also include an anchor coupled to the vehicle, a support arm coupled to the anchor, and a cable coupled to the support arm, wherein at least the cable supports the weight of the object. In some embodiments, recoilable device may be configured to flex in response to an impact on the object and return the object to a first original position in the absence of the impact.

摘要: A method and system for detecting and localizing damage on a radome. In one example, the system includes a detection mesh made up of an arrangement of conductive wires integral with the radome structure, and a digital strobe circuit coupled to the detection mesh that measures the detection mesh and reports results. In one example, the system includes a controller coupled to the strobe circuit and configured to assess the results and localize the damage based on measured changes in impedance of individual wires within the detection mesh. The controller may be further configured to provide a damage report to a user interface, the damage report optionally identifying the damaged area(s) of the radome.
