The present disclosure provides color filter and a manufacturing method thereof, and a liquid crystal panel with the color filter. The color filter includes a substrate, a black matrix formed on the substrate, a number of spacers integrally formed with the black matrix; and a color filter with a thickness thereof being less than that of the black matrix. Color ink is disposed in the black matrix and is hardened to form the color filter layer. The black matrix and the spacers are integrally formed and made of the black film, which simplifies the manufacturing process of the color filter. Additionally, since the color filter layer is formed by the ink jet printing method, the height of the color filter is unlimited, which allows the black matrix and the spacers to be made of conventional material, and improves the yield rate of the color filter.

A liquid crystal display (LCD) panel including a color filter on array (COA) substrate and a manufacturing method thereof are proposed. Metallic layers of the substrate of the LCD panel replace a conventional black matrix and are used for blocking light so the occurrence of color mixing and light leakage is prevented. Since the conventional black matrix is unnecessary in the present invention, the process steps of forming the LCD panel are simplified. Not only yield rate is raised, but also cost is reduced.

A pixel array is disclosed that comprises a storage capacitor, and the pixel array is coated with a color filter area, where the color filter areas comprises a first color filter area of the storage capacitor and a second color filter area of the regions beyond the storage capacitor. The thickness of the first color filter area is bigger than the thickness of the second color filter area, and the thickness of the regions beyond the storage capacitor is equivalent to the minimum value of thickness that retains the color chroma of the pixel array, which enables a pixel to hold the desired potential within a frame cycle while the area of the storage capacitor is diminished. The invention further provides a fabrication method of the pixel array.

A liquid crystal display (LCD) panel, a color filter (CF) and a manufacturing method thereof are disclosed in the present disclosure. The CF comprises a transparent substrate, a black matrix, first CF units, second CF units and a conductive layer. The transparent substrate comprises an active area and a dummy area. The first CF units in the active area have a trapezoidal cross section, and the second CF units in the dummy area have an inverted trapezoidal cross section. The conductive layer covers the active area continuously but covers the dummy area discontinuously; and thus, the active area can perform normal electrical conduction functions while an insulating effect can be achieved in the dummy area. In this way, even if conductive particles are present in the dummy area during the assembling process of the CF and a TFT, the discontinuous conductive layer in the dummy area can still prevent occurrence of abnormal conditions that the CF and the TFT are at the same voltage level. Thereby, abnormal short-circuits occurring when the CF and the TFT are assembled together can be prevented to improve the product quality.

An LCD exposure stage device is used for placing a substrate thereon, and comprises: a stage having an upper surface contacting with a bottom surface of the substrate; and a plurality of moving pins disposed flat on the upper surface of the stage with pin heads thereof corresponding to side surfaces of the substrate respectively so that the substrate can move horizontally by the moving pins. According to the present disclosure, only the substrate needs to be moved, so the operations are more convenient; and because the stage is always kept at a fixed position, the requirement on its strength can be appropriately lowered. Furthermore, because the substrate contacts with the stage all the time during the moving and exposure processes, and the time necessary for the exposure process is shortened, which make fabrication of the whole LCD panel more efficient.

A manufacturing method for a color filter substrate is disclosed in the present disclosure, which comprises the following steps of: providing a substrate; providing a photoreactive layer that covers the substrate; providing a photomask disposed above the photoreactive layer; and providing light rays of different frequency bands for irradiating the photoreactive layer through the photomask so as to form color resist regions and black matrix regions on the photoreactive layer respectively. A photomask and a photoreactive layer for preparing a color resist layer on a color filter substrate are also provided in the present disclosure. Thereby, the present disclosure can advantageously shorten the production cycle, and improve the aperture ratio and the contrast ratio.

A second substrate of the LCD panel comprises a plurality of pixel units. Each of the color filters of the LCD panel corresponds to one of the pixel regions of the pixel units. A liquid crystal layer is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate.
