Abstract:
A solar cell comprises a p-type semiconductor layer, an n-type semiconductor layer, and a superlattice semiconductor layer interposed between the p-type semiconductor layer and the n-type semiconductor layer, wherein the superlattice semiconductor layer has a stacked structure in which quantum layers and barrier layers are stacked alternately and repeatedly, wherein the stacked structure is formed whereby a miniband is formed by a quantum level of the quantum layers on the side of a conduction band, wherein an energy level at a bottom of the miniband is lower than an energy level at a bottom of the conduction band of the barrier layers, and an energy level at a top of the miniband is higher than an energy level, which is lower than the energy level at the bottom of the conduction band of the barrier layers by an amount twice as much as thermal energy at room temperature.
Abstract:
A washing machine includes: a drum (630) in which laundry is put; an ion elution unit that elutes metal ions and adds them to water; a sensing unit (701) for sensing imbalance at the time of rotation of the laundry tub; and an imbalance correcting unit (702). When the sensing unit senses imbalance in the drum at the time of spin-drying rotation of the drum performed after metal ion added water supplied from the ion elution unit to the drum is supplied, the imbalance correcting unit corrects the imbalance by performing a processing different from a processing performed when imbalance is sensed in a case where the metal ion added water is not supplied. The different processing is not supply of tap water but balance correction rinsing in which the metal ion added water is supplied to the drum and agitation is performed.
Abstract:
Provided are a method capable of imparting antistaticity to a fabric structure in a simple manner without causing any color change in the fabric structure, a fabric structure imparted with antistaticity by the method, and a washing machine that imparts antistaticity to a fabric structure according to the method. The method for imparting antistaticity to a fabric structure allows a metal or metal compound to adhere on a surface of the fabric structure by drying the fabric structure in a state where a liquid containing the metal or the metal compound exists on the surface of the fabric structure.
Abstract:
An ion elution unit generates metal ions by applying a voltage between electrodes. Terminals are formed integrally to the electrodes. The terminals protrude downward through the bottom wall of the casing of the ion elution unit. The space between the electrodes becomes narrower from the upstream side to the downstream side along with the water current flowing through the inside of the casing. The casing has a water inlet and a water outlet, the cross-sectional area of the water outlet is smaller than that of the water inlet. The water outlet is disposed at the lowest level in the inner space of the casing. The cross-sectional area of the inner space of the casing gradually decreases from the upstream side to the downstream side.
Abstract:
A washing machine has a partial washing apparatus, which has a supersonic resonator, which is driven by an oscillator to generate supersonic vibration and a supersonic vibration horn. A washing liquid is fed to the partial washing apparatus so as to be agitated by supersonic waves, which are then fed to an article to be washed to achieve partial washing of the article. The partial washing apparatus is detachably fitted to the washing machine proper at approximately the center of a lid of the washing machine proper. The partial washing apparatus may be used as a handy-type partial washing apparatus when held at a grip portion of the partial washing apparatus.
Abstract:
A polluted water purifier for collecting a pollutant present in polluted water by flocculating the pollutant with a flocculant has a mixer 5 for mixing the polluted water with the flocculant F and air, an agitator 18 for agitating the polluted water, containing the flocculant F and the air, that flows into a cylindrical agitation chamber 6 along the inner surface thereof by making the polluted water into a spiraling stream so that the flocks formed by the flocculant F hold bubbles, and a separator 10 and 19, connected to the agitator 18, for temporarily storing the polluted water and for separating the flocks holding the bubbles.
Abstract:
A process for producing an easily adherable biaxially stretched polyester film, which comprises coating a primer composition consisting of (A) and aqueous dispersion of polyurethane and (B) a montan wax salt and optionally a nonionic or anionic surface-active agent on the surface of a polyester film which has not yet been stretched completely, drying the coating, completing the stretching of the coated film, and then heat-setting it thereby to form a primer coated layer on the film surface.
Abstract:
Textured polyester yarn is prepared from multifilament yarn composed of a synthetic linear ethylene terephthalate polyester by draw-texturing at a draw ratio of 1.05 - 1.30X, using a heat-setting temperature of about 170.degree. - 240.degree.. Feed yarn for said draw-texturing process has (a) a break elongation of 40 - 80%, (b) a density of above 1.371 g/cm.sup.3, and (c) a boil-off shrinkage of less than 8%. Said feed yarn is prepared by modified melt spinning of the foregoing polyester at a speed of about 3000 - 5000 meters per minute.
Abstract:
A water feeding apparatus (300) has an ion eluter (100) and a shower emitter (200). The shower emitter (200) receives water via a coupling pipe (250) from the ion eluter (100), and sprays the water, in the form of a shower, onto laundry. Liquid droplets in the form of a shower are small and easy to dry, and thus produce crystals having smaller particles (with large surface areas), having more lattice defects, and easier to dissolve. With these crystals attached to the laundry, when the crystals make contact with moisture next time, the silver ion in the liquid droplets easily dissolves. Even when the laundry is made of water-repellent or hydrophobic cloth, the solution dries up on the surface of the cloth before water is repelled. Thus, even this type of laundry can benefit from the antimicrobial effect of the silver ion.
