The invention relates to a device for generating an air current, in particular for cooling or heating electric components or sub-assemblies. The aim of the invention is to develop a device of this type in order to incorporate an additional air-current monitor in a simple and cost-effective manner, thus ensuring the reliable and accurate monitoring of the ventilation process. The achieve this, the device is provided with an integrated air-current monitor on a housing part, the latter surrounding and/or being allocated to the fan. Said monitor is positioned in such a way that it is situated in the air current.

The invention relates to a filter ventilator that can be installed within an aperture in a wall, in particular the wall of a switch cabinet, circuit box, device housing or the like. The filter ventilator includes at least one ventilator motor (16, 50) with fan blades and a filter (14), which is positioned ahead of the ventilator motor (16) in the airstream. In accordance with the invention a build-in frame (10) with attachment means (24) and an insertion frame (12) are provided. The build-in frame (10) can be permanently fixed within the aperture. The insertion frame (12) is removably inserted into the build-in frame (10), the ventilator motor (16) is releasably connected to the insertion frame (12) and the filter (14) is removably set into the insertion frame (12). In addition, an exhaust filter is provided, which is constructed like the filter ventilator but includes no ventilator motor (16).

The aim of the invention is to produce a device cheaply and simply with essentially wear-free components which reacts to changes in the flow speed and/or the throughput rate without a time delay. Said aim is achieved, whereby the device comprises an approach flow device, the position of which may be altered relative to a mounting, against a retaining force FM and which may be impinged by the air flow for monitoring to generate a change in the position thereof. Furthermore, magnetic devices for the generation of a magnetic field dependent on the position of the approach flow device, detection means for recording the magnetic field and measuring means for generation of a measured signal dependent on the magnetic field are provided.
