    Abstract: A liquid heater such as a direct electrical resistance liquid heater having multiple flow channels is provided with a temperature-sensing element in the form of a wire extending across numerous channels, preferably all of the channels, near the downstream ends of the channels. The resistance of the wire represents the average temperature of the liquid passing through all of the channels, and hence the temperature of the mixed liquid exiting from the heater. A bubble suppressing structure is provided in the vicinity of the wire.

    Abstract: A linear motion bearing assembly is provided having a rail assembly with a flexible base portion and a bearing carriage assembly with flexibly depending legs configured for longitudinal movement along the rail assembly on rolling elements. A plurality of load bearing inserts are positioned on the rail assembly and/or carriage assembly and define load bearing tracks with rolling elements therebetween. The flexible rail and carriage assemblies permit optimization of the contact angle between the load bearing inserts and the rolling elements when the linear motion bearing assembly is under load.

    Abstract: A linear motion bearing assembly is provided including a carriage, a rail, and a bearing assembly. The linear motion bearing assembly includes deflectable structure formed in at least one of the carriage, rail and bearing assembly. The deflectable structure is configured to deflect under a predetermined force to affect load bearing characteristics of the linear motion bearing assembly. Pressure transducer structure is disposed adjacent to and configured for engaging the deflectable structure to apply the predetermined force to affect load bearing characteristics. The deflectable structure may include portions of the rail defining a cavity. The pressure transducer structure is disposed within the cavity. In another embodiment, the carriage includes a sidewall depending therefrom whereby the deflectable structure includes the sidewall. In yet another embodiment, the bearing assembly includes a ball retainer having a load bearing plate aperture. The deflectable structure includes a load bearing plate positioned within the aperture. The pressure transducer structure may include piezoelectric structure.

    Abstract: A linear recirculating anti-friction bearing assembly is disclosed for movably supporting a workpiece on a support shaft in the form of a round way. The bearing includes a housing and an elongate inner roller race for supporting the work piece on the round way. A plurality of rollers are positioned within the housing and are recirculated between loaded positions between the inner race and the round way and unloaded positions through which the rollers are recirculated back to the loaded positions. The housing is configured to retain the rollers and includes roller retainer strips at the lower end portions adjacent the inner race to retain the rollers in position when supporting the housing on the round way and to retain lubricants within the housing. Additional dust/lubrication means are provided on the housing.

    Abstract: A linear motion bearing is disclosed which includes a rail having a plurality of load bearing surfaces and a carriage which rolls smoothly along the rail to slidably support any of a plurality of devices such as individual tools, pillow blocks, etc. The bearing carriage includes a plurality of rolling element surfaces which define with the load bearing surfaces of the rail, load bearing raceways for reception of cylindrical rollers. The carriage further defines return raceways which communicate with the loaded bearing raceways for conducting the rollers between the loaded and return raceways. The loaded bearing surfaces have a unique convex shape facing the working surfaces of the rollers and thereby avoid undue stresses otherwise occurring at the roller ends. A plurality of molded plastic roller retainers are provided with integral inner end caps to guide the rollers between loaded and return raceways. Outer end caps are positioned thereover to seal the bearing and facilitate lubrication. All but central roller retainers are preferably provided in two half secions, while the central retainers extend the length of the carriage. In alternate embodiments, the retainers are formed separate from the inner end caps and may be attached by ultrasonic welding or gluing, etc.

    Abstract: An electro-pneumatic transducer for controlling gas pressure is disclosed. The transducer includes a nozzle body and a valve housing interconnected therebetween by a nozzle and a solenoid assembly including a magnetized valve assembly and a solenoid having a top portion and a bottom portion, which when energized generate a magnetic field having a predetermined polarity in response to which the magnetized valve assembly is actuated to control gas flow through the nozzle. The transducer also includes a control circuit adapted to receive an input signal. The control circuit is configured to energize the solenoid in response to the input signal to generate the magnetic field thereabout to actuate the valve assembly. The transducer further includes a capacitor coupled to the control circuit, wherein upon loss of the input signal, the control circuit signals the capacitor to provide an electrical signal to the solenoid to actuate the valve assembly.
