    摘要: A method and apparatus for reducing crosstalk in a multi-channel communication system is disclosed. In one embodiment, outgoing signals in a multi-channel environment are manipulated into a transform domain, such as the frequency domain. Thereafter, the signals may be combined and modified based on a weighting variable to create a cancellation signal. Combined processing greatly reduces system complexity and increases processing speed. After processing in the transform domain, the cancellation signal undergoes further processing to return the cancellation signal into the time domain. The cancellation signal may then be combined with received signals to cancel crosstalk or echo. A method and apparatus for crosstalk cancellation in the analog domain and digital domain are also disclosed. Cancellation at least partially in the analog domain reduces the dynamic range requirements for digital to analog converters within the front-end processing system of a receiver and thereby reduces clipping and increases operating speed.

    摘要: A turbine engine rotor component, such as a compressor or turbine disk or seal element, is protected from corrosion by depositing an aluminum or chromium coating on the component. The deposition can be performed by a vapor deposition process, such as metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD), to a coating thickness of from about 0.2 to about 50 microns, typically from about 0.5 to about 3 microns. In one embodiment, the method is conducted in a vapor coating container having a hollow interior coating chamber, and includes the steps of loading the coating chamber with the component to be coated; and flowing a tri-alkyl aluminum or chromium carbonyl coating gas into the loaded coating chamber at a specified temperature, pressure, and time to deposit an aluminum or chromium coating on the surface of the component. The coated component is then heated in a nonoxidizing atmosphere to a specified temperature to form an aluminide or chromide coating on the surface. The coated component is typically then heated or maintained at an elevated temperature in the presence of oxygen to form an oxide coating on the surface of the component.

    摘要: A method and apparatus is disclosed to overcome the effects of intersymbol interference during data transmission. Overcoming the effects of intersymbol interference makes possible higher data transmission rates for a given error rate. In one embodiment a receiver processing system a first, second and third filter, such that the second and third filter comprise feedback filters. Filter coefficients are calculated to reduce the undesirable effects of the channel, such as intersymbol interference. A training process occurs to establish the first filter as a mixed phase filter and the third filter as minimum phase filter. The second filter is configured based on the transfer function of the channel and one or more coefficients may be set to a predetermined value.

    摘要: A vehicle illuminator is provided which acts as a conventional marker light, and additionally illuminates advertisements on the surface of a vehicle. To allow both functions to be performed by a single illuminator, at least one bulb, a reflector, and a transparent insert are combined with one or more conventional marker lights. Light from at least one additional bulb is reflected through a clear portion of a housing by the reflector, the reflector being positioned such that the reflected light illuminates a selected surface. Thus, the light, in addition to acting as a conventional marker light, illuminates advertisements on vehicle and trailer surfaces, making these advertisements more visible, especially during periods of low visibility.
