Abstract:
In an image filing system including an image scanner having at least a color mode and a monochrome mode as image input mode, for inputting document images; a key device for designating the image input mode of the image scanner, an image file for storing document image data inputted from the image scanner and a display screen on which the document images are displayed, a background corresponding to the image input mode is outputted when the document image inputted for the image scanner is displayed on the display screen. If a monochrome document is inputted for processing in a full color or multicolor mode, a monochrome input image and the background which is specific to the full color or the multicolor mode are outputted. Accordingly, a user which looks at the display notices that he or she should change the input mode and inputs the document image again prior to registration of the inputted image in a file.
Abstract:
In a multi-window system, a plurality of windows are set on a display screen, and data processed results are displayed independently for each window, first and second windows are set on the display screen. When an operator inputs a series of commands so as to effect data processing on the first window, the data processed results based on the inputted commands are displayed on the first window, whereas the inputted commands are sequentially displayed in addition to already inputted commands on the second window.
Abstract:
A control method for an open channel for obtaining a stable condition of flow of water by coping with a transient change therein, comprising the steps of representing each space divided by gates of the open channel by a three water tank model including three imaginary water tanks in series and two imaginary conduits connecting the imaginary water tanks with each other; solving this model so as to obtain estimated future values of parameters of a state of the open channel; and determining a degree of opening of each gate so as to keep a liquid level of the space constant on the basis of the estimated future values of the parameters.
Abstract:
In a method of estimating a fracture point of a pipe line network, a group of estimating rules based on distribution characteristics of extraordinary pressure variation, pipe line characteristics and flow continuity requirements in a fracture accident monitoring system for such networks represented by a large scale water distribution pipe line network are applied to reference data of flow rates and pressures both obtained in the normal consumption condition, and to measured data of the flow rate and the pressure to estimate the fracture point. In the method, application order of individual ones of the group of the estimating rules is decided in accordance with data conditions of the pipe line network. In the case that a range of a set of suspected abnormal joints can not be reduced sufficiently to the extent of a practical tolerance limit, a numerical simulation which supposes the existence of fracture on a certain joint in the set of suspected abnormal joints is conducted to further reduce the range of the set of suspected abnormal joints through a comparison between results of the numerical simulation and measured results. In order to increase an estimating speed, a parallel processing is conducted for the estimating rules which utilize only local data in the pipe line network, by way of a plurality of the special purpose reasoning processors.
Abstract:
A water level control system for a reservoir includes steps of detecting water level, outflow rate and inflow rate of the reservoir detecting modified water level corresponding to the reservoir's content depending on the actual water level, the outflow rate and the inflow rate, and controlling the outflow rate of the reservoir in response to a deviation value between a set reference and the modified water level, thereby reducing the influence of undesirable water level fluctuation.
