A method of operating a cortical stimulator may be provided. The method may include: connecting a set of probes to the cortical stimulator, selecting parameters regarding a signal to be sent to the set of probes, sending a signal to the set of probes; observing the response of a subject having the set of probes contacting the subjects brain when the signal is sent to the probes, entering the observed response into the cortical stimulator, associating the response to a specific set of probes, and generating a report describing the response and associated probes.

The control permits a user to pause a stirring operation of stirrers and stirring hot plates, unload a vessel, load a new vessel, and restart the stirring without having to re-enter a speed setpoint. Also, current operational parameters may be stored as preset setpoints. The control further permits a user to program a calibration temperature that is similar to the temperatures expected to be encountered during operation.
