    摘要: A waste heat source (100) is used to heat a high temperature heat transfer fluid which is used to heat an absorption heat transfer machine (10) having a generator (20), an absorber (30), a condenser (40), and an evaporator (50) operatively connected together. The high temperature heat transfer fluid can also be used to heat a load (190) such as a room space or a process. The waste heat source (100) can also be used to heat an intermediate heat transfer fluid, which can be used to heat a second load (175) such as a space, a process, or an absorption heat transfer machine. Novel flow control devices (70, 60) for controlling the flow of weak solution from generator (20) to absorber (30) or of refrigerant from condenser (40) to evaporator (50), respectively, are also described.

    摘要: For motion compensated interpolation (MCI) with sub-pixel accuracy, the missing pixels need to be interpolated prior to the motion compensation. The required pixel values are stored using line and pixel delays. A switch matrix selects, in response to a motion vector, such stored pixels which are currently needed for the processing. In order to avoid sub-pixel MCI, the interpolation is carried out prior to the motion compensation. In order to avoid an increased input data rate of the motion compensation circuitry, only a standard switch matrix is used. A special arrangement of delays storing pixel values needed for the processing is used to extend the standard delay array. Because an increased number of pixels is involved, an improved sub-pixel MCI can be achieved. This is because such a delay extension does not significantly affect the decoded picture quality even if adjacent motion vectors do not exactly match the current motion vector.

    摘要: A mass flowmeter including a resistive wire adapted to be placed across the path of a fluid whose flow rate is to be measured, a controller unit for applying electrical energy to the wire, and a processor unit for deducing the mass flow rate of the fluid from variations in the temperature of the fluid. In one embodiment, the controller unit applies current pulses to the wire during given periods and the processor unit determines the rate at which the wire cools between pulses. The invention is applicable to measuring any mass flow rate in various environments.

    摘要: A sensor used to measure temperature or concentration of a combustible gas. The sensor includes an optical head that picks up infrared information emitted by the combustible gas. The infrared information is conveyed from the optical sensor through a diffracting device onto a strip of photodetectors. A processor receives the information garnered by the photodetectors and determines the concentration and temperature profile of the combustible gas based on a stored thermodynamic model, radiation behavior, varying the thermodynamic parameters, and comparing a calculated spectrum with the measured spectrum. The sensor additionally has elements, such as cooling devices and casing to make it suitable for use with aviation where altitude creates problems with known methods of gas temperature analysis.
